THE BEST LOCATED HOTEL IN MURTEN. LOVELY PEOPLE AND SERVICE. LOBBY COFFEE WAS A GOOD BONUS. WE GOT ONE OF THE 6 FREE PARKING PLACES FOR OUR THEEE DAY STAY ALSO A BONUS. ROOM WAS GOOD ENGLISH TV STATIONS. ONLY DOWNSIDE, NEDDS MORE AND BETTER BED PILLOWS.

I could have stayed for several days!
Excellent clean hotel not far from the train station easy walk. Lots of nice walks to do around the town and perfect boat rides on the lake. Extremely friendly staff and a wonderful breakfast buffet.

Beautiful views are the icing on the cake
The staff went out of their way to help with a request we had to chill a bottle of wine we brought with us. They provided everything we needed, even though we didn't buy the wine from them. Dinner in their restaurant was lovely and the view of the lake makes it even more special. I liked that the lobby area had chair groupings (and free coffee!) where you could sit and visit away from your room.

Great service in historical hotel
Amazing hotel with outstanding service in the historical center of Murten. Splendid views of the lake from the restaurant. Rooms have no A/C but a fan is provided in summer. Also it is hard to park directly at the hotel, however, plenty of parking is available in walking distance.

Great location and good quality food
We were not very happy about the room--we booked a family room and got a small room with a cot. Apart from this, we enjoyed very much breakfast at the hotel--quality food and good variety--and the annexed restaurant, which we highly recommend for the view on the lake, the friendly and professional staff, the good food and the little courtyard very convenient for kids.

Nice hotel in Murten
This is a nice property located about 7 minutes walk from the Murten/Morat station. The breakfast is nice and the staff can be friendly. The room I had was good, although rather small and the sound insulation is not the greatest so you can be considered lucky if you don't have a noisy neighbour booked next to your room. Wi-Fi was adequate for e-mail and Whatsapp messaging but for calls be prepared for dropouts. Overall a very nice but expensive little hotel for a short stay in the lovely town of Murten. In summer in can get quite warm and there is no climate control for cooling. Usually, it cools off at night and if you have windows they can be left open.

Very cute and sort of re-done. But seemed a little musty. Had huge suite with view of lake, but small windows. Very nice and friendly staff. Clean rooms, good breakfast.

Fantastic experience with an amazing location
Would highly recommend this hotel for a laid back and relaxing experience. The location can't be beat, being inside the medieval city walls of Murten and located very near the edge of the lakeside. You can explore this small old city in the span of a couple hours, with plenty of places to eat or drink (be aware that all shops and some restaurants are closed on Sun & Mon). Walking along the perimeter of old castle walls is a must-do experience. The area around Murten is pretty rural and I wish we had spent another day there to do some exploring. If you stay at this hotel, get a room with a lakeside view. The rooms have balconies and sipping on a glass of wine during sunset was a great thing to do. Be aware that the hotel.com booking may say your room comes with a view of the lake, but this is not accurate. Call the hotel to confirm! In spite of what our booking confirmation said, we did NOT get a room view. The hotel staff was able to upgrade our room for a small fee. They were understanding of our disappointment and the room change gave us the great experience we were looking for. The hotel restaurant was closed the day we were there, but it looked pretty nice and provided a killer view of the lake. A good grocery store was a 5 minute walk away, if you wanted to stock up for a day trip (or just eat-in on your balcony with meats, cheeses, and wine, which we did). I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return if we are in the area again.

We came here because all the hotels in Bern were booked, but we are so glad we did. What an excellent hotel with a view of the lake and a short walk to the small historic town! This is owned and managed by a second generation family hotelier and was one of the best hotel stays we have ever experienced.

The property was clean and the staff very helpful. However the room they gave us was above the restaurant area and it was very noisy. The room was very warm so closing the window was not a very good option. Room should have had A/c (even if the summers are short...usually the excuse they give you) or at least a fan

In high season and with the beautiful weather we had this summer, it might happen that people like to sit longer outside in the garden and talk for a longer while. However we always try to avoid the noise from the Restaurant for the rooms, and tell them to move inside and respect the hotel guest's sleeping time. In your case we are sorry that there was still enough noise from outside. We always suggest the clients to inform the reception straight ahaead that we might act on real-time to remind the Restaurant guest's again. All our Suites have air-condition, for the standard and superior rooms we always provide fan's. If there was no fan inside the room (transferred to another room or taken with by clients), there again we suggest that the clients can ask us in time and on spot , that we can handle out one. We always keep reserve for such cases. Sorry for the inconveniences caused, we try our best to saitsfy clients needs and the most of times we can, if we are informed directly on spot and in time.

Weekend outing with friends to Murten
We were a group of 3 friends staying in this hotel on a Friday night. The room was very clean and as described. We all enjoyed the breakfast buffet with swiss classics such as the Zopf bread and birchermuesli. The hotel is located in the beautiful, small old town of Murten. From the hotel you have a beautiful view of the lake below, which is no further than a 2 minute walk. Overall I was very satisfied with the hotel and plan to return in the future.

Brilliant stay in a stunning location
Lovely hotel, brilliant gentleman on Reception who helped a tired traveler out!! My evening meal was delicious and the view is amazing from the restaurant and breakfast room. English TV channels too, which was lovely at the end of the day. Would love to go back for a holiday and look around the area. Highly recommended!

Comfortable hotel with a wonderful View.
We loved here this quaint little hotel. The room was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with many selections. The little town Is charming and has many little shops. We walked the wall and visited the little church. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting this area.

It was a lovely hotel, the service was good. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was quite lovely and the spread was good. The only complaint we have is the the shower was in the room and it was very inconvient. The the room was too small as we had our adult children staying with us. The room was clean.

Great hotel, feels like a B&B
Murten is a cute little town to spend a night or two. We used it as a "launch site" for various day trips (Berne, Avenches). Hotel was clean, room was large with unique furniture in each room (not your standard hotel-issue furniture). My room even had a round bed! Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and free parking and WiFi is VERY much appreciated. Highly recommend!

I booked a 3 night stay but moved out after one night for multiple reasons. Room was near a club that played loud music until 2 am. Rooms are small and dated, mattress was dirty and bathroom was flooded after a shower because of shower curtain too small. Parking is a big issue in Murten. The hotel offers free parking but the spaces are mostly taken. Also the hotel has a parking but its not free. The so called boss of the hotel is very rude and unprofessional. I have asked a simple question about parking restrictions. He didn't know and did not offer to ask someone who might know. I expect to receive this answer from a local business. All he offered was some unclear information and that he knows a million things but not this one. When I said I expect better service as a guest he said that he wish not to have me as a customer. I travel a lot and nobody ever told me that I am not welcome at a hotel. So I moved out and stayed in another hotel near by and I am so glad I did as it was much better and price was less. I will never stay there again. It is too expensive for what they offer and the quality does not match the price. How guest are handled is disgraceful.

Murten hotel visit
Great stay. Ability to park right near hotel within city was a big plus. Front desk was extremely helpful in assisting us with desired information. We had a room with a view of the lake and it was great. Their restaurant had the best location in the city from our perspective. Restaurant food was good and waiter service was excellent. Of course, we should note that we went in September when tourist season was wrapping up so it was not crowded.

Amazing little town with a great place to stay!
We loved the little town of Murten with its old world elegance and had a nice stay at the Krone Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful which was very welcoming to our family. The breakfast was great and included with the price of the room. There was a wide selection of everything from delicious breads, sandwich meats, cheese, cereal with fruit and plenty of other offerings to please all. I would highly recommend staying at the Krone and would definitely come back again.

Quick one night stop. Murten is a small, delightful town and hotel was perfect. Weren't thrilled with our first room, asked and were upgraded to a much nicer room at the same price. Restaurant on premises was excellent.
