When you book one of our cabins in the mountains of southern Upshur County, you have the opportunity to book a personal tour of Grandpa Tom's Maple Farm, just 5 minutes from the cabin. Grandpa Tom's Maple Farm was voted a Gold Award winner in WV Living Magazines Best of WV competition in 2024 for best maple syrup! This mountain meadow cabin is very peaceful and secluded, and soaking in the hot tub! Relax on the front porch or back deck drinking your morning coffee while enjoying the beautiful landscape and likely see wildlife in the field! Cabin sleeps 2 (Queen bed) and has a pull out couch with queen mattress to accommodate additional guests! The cabin has multiple board games and card games for all ages. Adult and children's games. Large variety of DVDs for all ages. Local cable. Outdoor firepit with seating. Firewood is available upon request when booking for $10 per day. Just let us know how many days and we can send an invoice after you book or closer to your stay that can be paid online! Gas grill available for grilling out during your stay! Outdoor hot tub that seats 4 adults with lights and jets. Binoculars available to enjoy the beautiful landscape and wildlife! Radio with CD player, AM/FM radio, and Bluetooth. Window unit air conditioner during summer months. 10,000BTU in bedroom and smaller one in kitchen. No smoking inside the cabin. No glass permitted in or around hot tub area please. Please keep the hot tub covered when not in use to avoid leaves and bugs getting into the water. Kitchen has all appliances and utensils that can be found in your home. Teapot, coffee pot/keurig combo, double toaster, crock pot, gas range stove, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, ice trays in freezer, garbage bags. There are storage containers, strainer, tea pitcher, large soup bowls, lots of coffee mugs!, pots and pans, sheet pans for the oven, etc. The kitchen will also have Pam spray, sugar, flour, salt, pepper, and an assortment of spices available. Please be aware that the cabin driveway is long. The driveway splits half way and you will proceed straight to access this cabin. The uphill driveway is our Mountain View Cabin. Cabin is pet friendly allowing 1 dog under 50lbs. Pet fee is required at booking. Please check the $99 pet fee when paying for your booking please. We are willing to entertain the idea of a second dog. Please message when booking or prior to. We are also the owners of Mountain View Cabin in French Creek, WV which can also be viewed and booked on VRBO! Surrounding destinations: COES COUNTRY STORE - approximately 15 minutes from the cabin near the WV Wildlife Center. Coe's has an open kitchen with WONDERFUL food! Food can be to go or dine in! They also have beer, mixed drinks, pop, milk, bread, ice, candy, energy drinks, and cigarettes/tobacco. Village Hardware - approximately 20-25 minutes from the cabin. Village hardware has a small selection of hardware supplies, ice, GAS, alcohol and tobacco. Make a right onto route 20 past the WV Wildlife Center. There is a Dollar General just before you get to Village Hardware! Buckhannon - 22 miles/34 minutes. Area includes Walmart, Kroger, multiple gas stations, restaurants, movie theatre, Walk-in clinics, St. Joseph's Hospital, Sams Pizza, Pizza Hut, Chinese, Mexican, Buffalo Wild Wings, Daily Grind Coffee Shop, and lots of small clothing boutiques on Main St in Buckhannon! The cabin had everything we needed and provided a relaxing few days. However, I didn't realize there was no Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it was perfect! ##### Melissa G. Cabin doesn't have Internet, but who needs Internet when you have plenty to do outside. Owners were very nice and responded very quickly to questions we had. The wildlife was everywhere and we didn't see another person the entire stay. The view of the stars in the meadow was just mind blowing. The roads leading up to the area aren't necessarily for the faint of heart but they sure are fun! We had an absolutely amazing time and will most likely be coming back. ##### Brett Y. Outstanding property exactly as described. We wanted peaceful and secluded and we got it. We did not see or hear another soul the entire time we were there. It is quiet and secluded, and it was perfect for me, my wife, and our dog. We all loved sitting on both of the porches and watching the wildlife. The surrounding area was fun to explore in our side x side. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. It was definitely one of our favorite cabins and we can’t wait to go back! The owners were very responsive and informative. We had no issues, but we had a couple questions and they were quick to answer. ##### David K. As we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary we fell in love with this place! So quiet and peaceful! Beautiful cabin and they couldn’t have picked a better spot for it! Open meadows in the front view and wooded area off the back porch, just sooo peaceful! She was very helpful quick to respond asked if everything including if I was satisfied with the amount of wood I ordered. The cabin is perfect for a couple great views it's cozy yet has all amenities plus more the front porch with beautifull view of open field you can see deer and wikd turkeys the bsck porch uas a deer feeder nearby i highky recommend booking this csbin we will again ##### Asparuh S. This is a lovely cabin, with lovely hosts, and with some cool lil locations mixed in. For starters the cabin is clean and secluded but not too far from some great small towns and trails. Read the listing to get a idea of how far you are from the main towns. The property it sits on is beautiful with a nice clearing in the front and woods in the back. We saw and heard a lot of wildlife during our stay. The cabin also has 2 great decks (one in the front and back) to sit with family or friends and relax and take in the scenes and sounds. The front deck faces a fire pit and also has the hot tub on it so adults can relax and still watch the kiddos.
