Great location, and station in one direction and a 10 minute walk to the city center or university in another direction. Breakfast was a bit pricey, but was a fully stocked buffet.
The swimming pool is a bit small, and there is only one iron for the entire hotel which could be tricky for business travelers. Otherwise, my family loved it and it was a very good stay.
I travelled to Freiburg for the weihnachtsmarkt. In fact, Freiburg has a lot to offer: shopping, outdoor pursuits. The old part of the city is very beautiful. Transport is fairly easy.: you an buy an all day tram pass (the machines have an english facility if you don't speak german). The hotel is within walking distance from the main railway station - only about ten (brisk) minutes. The hotel staff are very helpful. The rooms are a bit small (I booked a single), but they are very clean and warm. Each room has an extensive welcome pack which was very good. The breakfast was excellent!!!!! There was a lot of choice and a lot to eat. Best hotel breakfast I have had. You can eat at night, and again the meals are good. Inspite of this I do not think I would stay there again, not as a single traveller. The hotel is large and I felt a bit alienated sitting in the lounge/restaurant on my own. I felt it more suited groups rather than individual travellers, and it seemed to lack that 'personal' touch. In a busier season I might feel differently.

Close to all major sightseeing areas of Freiburg as well as to transportation like train or bus. Important to know you need to pay extra for A/C if you plan to visit Freiburg in the summer. Is an extra 15 Euros/ night. In the recent heat wave it was so worth it! Staff very helpful and friendly!

We stayed for one night on our way to Italy although it appears other guests were there for longer as it is a spa type hotel. The staff at reception were excellent, I was a bit embarrassed with my poor knowledge of the German language however I need not have worried as they spoke perfect English. The room was immaculate and very comfortable, there was no air conditioning however a table fan was provided. We did not have any meals there so cannot comment on their cuisine. Very easy to find from the Autobahn turn off and only a few minutes drive. I would certainly stay again.
Close to Switzerland and France, Freiburg im Breisgau offers visitors cultural sights and natural beauties. In the heart of Freiburg, the Old Town Hall, Freiburg Minster, and the Historical Merchants Hall from 1532 reflect the medieval history of this place. Squares, like Augustinerplatz, provide an ideal backdrop for the dozens of celebrations, which take place every year in Freiburg's old town.
