A lovingly restored classic Mid-century Modern Waterfront home. The nearly 270 degree westside view spans Mt. Rainier, downtown Seattle, the Olympics, Port Townsend, and the San Juan islands. Sitting on nearly an acre with privacy so difficult to find, this home features a circular driveway, full length deck, master suite with its own private deck, a chef's kitchen with high end appliances, and close proximity to all that Whidbey Island has to offer. Our place feels like it's a world away, yet it's only a short 90 minute jaunt from Seattle. Located in the Olympic rain shadow, our winter days are warmer / dryer and summer days are cooler than Seattle. The house has been a labor of love for our family as we have been carefully restoring / preserving it to its original 1960s mid-century modern vintage complete with modern finishes / creature comforts - all with a focus on reuse and sustainability. Take in the views from the full size deck that extends the length of the house and is equipped with HAY Palissade deck chairs, a Solo Stove fire pit, a Sonos Move, alfresco dining setup, and a Pawleys Island cotton rope hammock - all capped by a spectacular PNW native Madrona tree. The great room is replete with carefully curated mid century modern touches, a fully stocked chef's kitchen with high end appliances, a Nespresso machine, board games, a deep sectional couch, an Apple TV, a Sonos audio setup, amazon Alexas, and smart lighting controlled via the provided iPad. The spa-like master bedroom ensuite has a medium firm foam mattress king size bed, Pendleton throws, a wall of closets, soft linen sheets, and opens to its own private deck. The Master Bedroom now has a brand new, METICULOUSLY REMODELED bathroom with a vanity, and DUAL SHOWERS. Be one of the first to experience it! We spent our 3rd visit to this wonderful home with our family of 4 adults, our 2 kids and our dog. The house is stocked for a week with a family! Tons of games, great tech options, ping pong table, and corn hole kept the kids busy. The hosts create a great space for cooking in as a family with the kitchen really well appointed. The house is cozy for sunny days and for cool nights. We enjoyed the solo stove for a fire at dusk with some delicious wine from the island. The house is centrally located on the island and close to great places to site see such as the Meerkirk Garden's, Langley, Greenbank Farms, and Dancing Fish Winery. Freeland has everything you need close at hand. The hosts are gracious and wonderful communicators. Highly recommend this home! ##### Jason W. This is our second stay at this mid-century gem. The hosts are responsive and welcoming. The house is well appointed, great for families for both exploring the island and just chilling out watching the sun set over the Olympic Mountains. Clean, comfortable, and great location. The house was the perfect place for three long-time friends who now live far apart to reconnect. We loved sitting on the deck talking while enjoying the views or Puget Sound, the Olympics, passing ships, and fabulous night skies. The local beach made for invigorating morning walks. The kitchen is well equipped to cook meals. and some wonderful restaurants (Prima Bistro, Savory) are just a short drive away. There is plenty to do on Whidbey Island. This was our second stay at this beautiful property and once again, we were sad to leave! The house is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed. We appreciate all of the tech that the owners have incorporated. The location is perfect - it's on a dead-end street, so there is little to no traffic and the views from the deck cannot be beat. I could (and do) stare out at that water all day long! The hosts are great to work with too. If I had one suggestion, it would be to put screens on the windows/sliding door so that guests could take advantage of the ocean breezes and fresh air.
