Upon entering this historic property, you'll notice it is appropriately named The Stone Well Haus because of the well located in the living room. Although the well was previously located on the back porch, it wasn't uncommon for homes to have indoor cisterns to have access to fresh water. Expertly restored in 2016, the well is now covered and used as an end table and conversational centerpiece in the large open concept living, dining, and kitchen area. With plenty of windows to the back yard, this makes it the ideal place for entertaining both indoors and out. The house is perfectly furnished throughout with a mix of modern furnishings and the owner's family antiques including a loom built in 1879 and a pie safe made by your hostess's great great grandfather. The master bedroom offers the perfect retreat with an iron king size bed and neutral linens with an en suite bath. Located up the original wood staircase are the other two bedrooms, second full bath, and writer's nook. The second King suite is large enough to be a second master and just as tranquil with a bath right outside the room. Two charming twin beds are located in the third bedroom providing a perfect haven for kids or additional guests. The Stone Well Haus is also the perfect place for Fido! Your hosts have provided everything they might need including dog crates, bowls, and a fenced in yard making it the optimal getaway for everyone. The home is dog-friendly and will accept up to two dogs. However, there is a pet fee of $17/dog/night. Due to the fact that HomeAway/VRBO does not allow us to charge for more than one dog at the time of booking, please let us know if you will be bringing more than one dog, so that we can make sure that you are charged the correct amount. If you bring more than one dog and do not let us know, you will be charged accordingly. Furthermore, please bring crates for your dogs and crate them in your absence from the house, do not allow the dogs on furniture or beds, and pick up and properly dispose of their waste. If these rules are not followed, there will be an additional $200 charge added to your reservation. House Rules as Required by the City of Fredericksburg's Short Term Rental Ordinance \- Observe the City of Fredericksburg Quiet Hours (10pm to 7am in residential zones). \- The City of Fredericksburg is a Dark Sky Community with outdoor lighting restrictions. It was nicely appointed and we had everything we needed including snacks and dishes. Everything in the house worked, it was immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, would definitely stay here again. The upstairs bedrooms are on different sides of the stairs which allowed for some privacy from the kids which was nice. My party had to sleep on air mattresses on the floor when I had specifically chosen this home to accommodate my entire party. Oct 31, 2017 #### Perfect place for the weekend Absolutely beautiful home. Myself and 5 other girls stayed for the weekend and we all wanted to remodel our houses like this one. Very nice inside and out with plenty of room. Bathrooms and kitchens were very nice and the owners thought of everything. ##### Nicole M. Jun 24, 2022 #### New favorite Fredericksburg is one of our favorite Texas destinations. We have stayed in various Sunday Houses but the Stone Well will be the home we keep coming back to. We loved everything about the home. It's spacious and clean, has great amenities and is in a charming old neighborhood a short walk from Main Street. Jun 24, 2022 #### Wonderful Getaway This is the 4th time I've stayed at this house with different groups of friends. The location is so convenient to walk to Main Street and the house is ideal for a group of 6 People. The beds are comfortable, the house is always clean and cute. I do wish there was more of an L shaped couch in the living room for hanging out and watching movies, as we always do that one night when we are there. The chairs are pretty small to get comfortable in. But overall, I would rent this place again! ##### Lauren G. Jun 24, 2022 #### Our Week at The Stone Well Haus We very much enjoyed our week at The Stone Well Haus! It was a perfect fit for our family, and the home was very comfortable and nice. The binder of useful information was a helpful resource. While we did not receive the bottle of wine or snacks described in the binder, the kitchen was clean and stocked with useful dishes and kitchen items. The drawers in the bedroom dressers/chests needed a bit of cleaning before we could use them, but the majority of guests probably do not stay an entire week. The close location to Main Street was convenient, and we walked on most days that we explored nearby stores and museums.
