Plenty of room for the four of us. Plenty of working space in the kitchen for my daughter in law to make some very tasty meals. I loved the terracotta flooring. Very quiet. Great location, one block from main street, an easy stroll to all nearby attractions. The narrow spiral staircase to the loft is steep and difficult to navigate with a large suitcase, which some folks might not like. Mar 13, 2025 #### Great location! Cutest house, with just a few things to note We had a great stay here. The location cannot be beat and we loved sitting outside at the tables and talking every morning and night. Some things to note: the downstairs room is completely open in a 1 foot by 5-6 foot space at the top so anyone coming down the stairs can look directly into your bed. Also, the bedroom door does not have a handle or a lock so it just sort of sits there a little bit open and anyone in the living room or dining room will be looking directly at the bed. It was a little awkward. Also the sheets are polyester, which sleep so hot. I'd love to see cotton sheets on the bed. The AC is very strong, which helped compensate. Adding a full length mirror would be very helpful. There were random bulbs out all over the place, in all rooms. And the only place with near enough light is the upstairs bath. So my friend and I crammed in there to do makeup. I would not let these things stop you from staying here, as it was a lovely stay. Just some things that could easily be fixed. Love the location except for Thursday morning at 7am when the garbage truck came to empty the neighbors dumpster which is directly under the window. Boy that was a rude awakening, and yes I'm chuckling, it got me out of bed early that's for sure. The Chapel is very comfortable and is in a super location with off street parking. Other than Thursday morning it was a quiet location, you get to hear faint music from some of the closer music venues which my husband and I enjoyed on our walks back t9 the house. We ate at several places during our stay all we walked to the farthest being Otto's which we would not go back to again. Our last night we went to the H-E-B (beautiful store worth going to) and picked up some of their take and bake meals wanting to stay in and catch a movie after our busy few days. The common spaces are super cozy and comfortable. 3\. There is no cleaning required upon checkout. The not great things: 1\. The upper bedroom is a loft so you can hear everything. 2\. The lower bedroom has no doorknob, the door does not close all the way, and there are spindles at the top, which means as someone is coming down the staircase, they look right at the bed in that bedroom. 3\. The outdoor space is not very usable or comfortable. 4\. The kitchen is sparsely stocked with utensils. We were able to cook a full dinner, but we brought our own roasting pans. ##### Jen F. We stayed in Agave Chapel and our friends stayed in Agave Nest. Each had it's own personality and was charming. Pros: house was clean, bed was comfortable, area was quiet, living spaces were perfect for chilling on the couch and watching movies after walking around in the heat all day. Dining table perfect for playing card games with friends. Cons: The big bed and nicer bathroom were upstairs and it was just too risky for us to try and get up and down that spiral staircase. It made the second floor virtually unusable for us, which is a shame because it was so nice.The air conditioner kept us awake the first night - when it kicks on it goes through a whole cycle of sounds, and makes the doors crack and creak until it gets going. By the second night we were more accustomed to it and it didn't wake us up every time. The courtyards were both vastly undersold amenities and could be the crowning jewels of the compound. But they were tired looking and seemed uncared for. Just blowing the leaves and debris out, arranging the chairs in groupings around the firepit and in other areas with some brightly colored throw pillows, potted flowers,and a water feature would make them go from a 4 to a 10\. We did spend some time out there with the Agave kitty and gave her food and water both days. Overall the location is PERFECT for walking around Main street but being able to quickly get back to the comfort of the house. Being able to park in the private area is also another huge bonus. A tad loud in the mornings with trash trucks and other delivery trucks, but I couldn’t have asked for a better location.The home needs major renovations. The doors don’t have any seal left, they even have things to place down when it rains so it doesn’t leak…One of the windows seals is rotting, the bathroom downstairs is pretty old and not cleaned very well. The bed definitely needs replaced. I understand bugs can get in, but I think I found at least 7 crickets in 2 days inside the living and bedrooms. The property was beautiful, spacious, and the best part was we could walk to and from downtown every day with ease. It's the perfect distance from Main Street to head back for a quick break, drop off shopping bags, or bring back a bottle of wine to put in the fridge for later! The parking was directly on property and there was plenty of space. The courtyards are cute and are shared with the other rentals on the property. There were lots of plants on site and we saw hummingbirds out our window every morning. Just a heads up for anyone with mobility issues - there is a spiral staircase leading to the second bedroom. We had no problems with it and loved the charm but it's something to be aware of.We can't wait to come stay at Agave for our next trip! ##### Rachel R.
