The cabin is older, but is in good shape. The bed we slept on was very comfortable. We did not do any cooking while we were there, but the kitchen appeared to be equipped with everything we would have needed had we cooked a meal. For several days before we arrived, the area had experienced record cold temperatures. As a result, the inside of the house was pretty cold when we got there. I turned up the heater in each room of the house, and built a fire. Within a few hours, it was warm and cozy inside. If I had to find something to complain about, I guess it would be the lighting in the living room. There is a light on each side of the fireplace, and a small lamp on a table at the other side of the living room. My recommendation would be to replace the 2 living room ceiling fans with ones that have a light. Keep in mind, this is me actively looking for something to complain about. The lighting situation was not a big issue. If we ever visit the area again, we would definitely consider staying here again. ##### Greg O. The place was a typical mountain "cabin". Small, cozy and perfect for those who aren't going to be spending much time hanging out in a cabin. We were on the go pretty much the whole time but the beds were comfy, the water was hot, and the heaters worked suffieciently. We used the charcoal grill and the kitchen extensively for thanksgiving and it had everything we needed (except for charcoal). There was even wood left over so the fire pit outside also got good use. The location is about 30 min from Cashiers and Highlands, and about 15 minutes to Franklin. We were not really hanging out in town so this didn't matter. Overall I am satisfied with the accomodations. Nothing fancy, which is how we roll anyway. ##### John C. Basically no Internet or cell service, which is exactly what we were after. Sleeping with the windows open to hear the creek across the street was a real treat. We went tubing on the river, hiking on the mountain, fishing for trout, and Rock hunting.
