Great trip away, not-so-good hotel.
This was a last minute trip to Frankfurt due to my husbands business trip and we found (what I thought to be) a reasonable hotel. Not cheap, not expensive. The staff were very good, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was decent. However, I never saw the bar open, not once in 5 days. We arrived late on Friday evening and all we wanted to do was to just have a beer and then go to bed. But the bar wasn't open - not even on a Friday night. We had to go down the street to have a beer and the street and the area around wasn't particularly pleasant. We were right opposite the train station and I know that areas around train stations (in most places) are never particularly inviting.
Back in our room, I was surprised & disappointed to find disposable cups for tea and coffee. The following morning, we had a cup of tea and coffee, yet lo-and-behold that evening, despite the room being cleaned/tidied, our tea/coffee was not replenished and our dirty disposable cups were still there. I was at least expecting to have clean cups and to have the tea/coffee/sugar replenished
I had to sneak tea bags and milk from the breakfast area, along with two proper cups, so that we could have the facilities in our room. Unfortunately, this was the same situation for the 4 nights we spent there.
