"Nice central hotel "
Great hotel with a great location and room comfort. My only thing is if you advertise as smoke free. Don't allow people to smile on your balconies and quote that they can if you're a smoke free hotel.

"What have Germans got against air conditioning?"
First off, this really is a lovely medium to small sized hotel, set on a leafy, quiet street right near the Frankfurt "Messe" (Trade Fair), natural history museum, two U-bahn lines and several trolley lines. They feature a very good spread of cooked and cold breakfast entrees, cereal, fruit, scrumptious crusty, grainy breads, cereals, and excellent coffee (this is a real sticking point with me). The rooms are comfortable, clean, modern and well lit. If you like The Cozy, this hotel fits the description. The staff is relentlessly pleasant, helpful and eager to please. Here are my caveats, one of which is a cultural thing: there's no air conditioning nor even a ceiling fan. As a matter of fact, there were no ventilation grids in the upper walls or ceilings. The days were warm and the room stuffy. This kind of thing is an issue throughout Europe, of course, but after a while it gets pretty old for a traveling American. I did ask for and was cheerfully provided with an oscillating desk fan that made the room much more comfortable, though. The other caveat: only one accessible electric outlet in the room, another between the bedroom and bathroom (and a shaver outlet next to the hair blower in the bathroom). I had to plug my fan into the passageway outlet and stand it on a chair facing my bed for the desired effect. The other outlet is by the night table on the right side of the bed (no outlet on the left). I could charge my phone or run my laptop but not both at once.

"Funky and great."
On the #11 tram route (ticket achine a few m up the road) and near Frankfurt East RS. A room at the front overlooking the tram route was quiet and dark at night; great for sleeping. First class shower with loads of hot water. And an excellent breakfast: fresh and lots of it, even a cappucino. We'll be back

"Hidden Extras"
An absolutely delightful experience. We got a good deal - we are mid to low budget travellers - and this hotel is for the cream. While I thank Expedia for that I think a warning about breakfast prices not being included £35 per person for an OK buffet. Also be warned about the evening Restaurant prices. Both could be easily avoided - I blame myself having learnt (Ist frustuck imbegrieffen?) at School and I didn't ask just assumed it was. Nothing the staff said indicated this. They were so nice and accessible on all other things. Frankfurt was a great place but we booked in February (hence great deal) and nobody told us about the Fest all along both banks of the Mein - brilliant - definitely recommend Frankfurt when the Fest is on. And at Villa Kennedy - take swimming stuff and make use of the Spa. Overall great just beware the hidden extras. This was the case also at the Atschel Restaurant in Sachsenhausen. Excellent food but the mice scampering about the floor in the outdoor section were rather unexpected.
