I booked this place over a month ago and on 4/21/22,the day we were supposed to check in, we arrived and there was furniture all over the front entrance. We come to find out that this hotel closed down 15 days prior to our arrival. Expedia didn't even know about it either. Thanks to Expedia for getting us another hotel to stay in.

Pool, hot tub and fitness center closed. No snacks or meal served. Headboards in rooms damaged. Water pressure for showers low. If I had not prepaid, we would have looked for a different place to stay

Rodeway Inn Kendallville is a dive.
This hotel is a dive. Dirty, somewhat smelly, door cards don't work properly, elevator didn't work at all, bedbugs... you name a bad thing and they had it! To top it all off, they overcharged me $22 and now refuse to answer my call. Save yourself a headache and don't book here.

They take a copy of your driver's licence, AC bad.
This hotel is an old Holiday Inn, I think. I know this because the old signs are still laying out behind the building wrapped in torn tarp. It was rough looking inside and the air conditioner didn't work the best. There were people loitering outside which I know is no fault of the property, but, still. Also, when I checked in, the clerk took a copy of my driver's licence per "company policy". I personally am not a fan of that because it is easy to parlay that into identity theft if it got into the wrong hands. This was the last hotel we stayed in on that trip and the ONLY one that took a photocopy of my ID. In fact, I don't believe ANY other hotel has done that. There are nicer properties in surrounding towns.

We were just glad to get a room at 11:30 pm, so condition was largely unimportant. Our room could use some work, though. Vinyl was peeled off much of the headboard, making the whole room seem shabby. Everything worked, but the TV channel selection was terrible—mostly shopping and odd things we’d never heard of.

Rug spotted and dirty… and washcloth and towels folded but dirty. When towels replaced one was damp. Took pictures of damaged chair and rug so I would not be charged for them.

The room had dirty linens piled on the table. The bed wasn’t made up. The headboard was torn up. The executive chair’s leather was shredded. The smoke alarm was broken with the battery hanging by a wire. Just felt filthy and trashed. They happily take your money but don’t maintain the place. Not very welcoming

No one is at checking desk, I need to call his cell and wait. Cleanness is terrible and no kindness at all. Broken furniture not clean inside, covered by dust, not enough amenities and towels and so on. But not easy to reach to manager. When I booked this hotel, I booked accessible room but they didn’t provide even they provided the room at 3rd floor, my wife was sick so very difficult to move back and forth.

The pool and the breakfast was closed which was very disappointing. Seeing that a lot of other hotels are already open for both. The room had bugs and dryer sheets in the air vent I could not even turn it on it was gross.

Check in went well. The hotel seems pretty aged. The bathroom wasn't cleaned when I got my room, still soap bar laying in shower, toilet not cleaned. The backboard for the bed was peeling. Why breakfast isn't served before 7am on a Saturday is beyond me. Just trying to save money is all they are doing.

There were very few customers, yet we were denied a 1st floor room. The 1st room offered was one the worse rooms we have ever seen in our extensive travels. It took several attempts at getting an acceptable room and furnishings. The breakfast is not acceptable (food that has repeatably warmed). The hit tub was broken and will be for an extended time. Will not stay here again under any circumstance. Far overpriced even at budget rate.

The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. The pool had a smell of mold or mildew with something growing on the curtains. The hot tub, which was out of order, had dead bugs, SL m, and an terrible odor. The entire pool room also had a strong for of mildew and the water was not clear. My daughter had to take benadryl to control her allergies.

The only thing i liked that i used was the hot breakfast though they ran out of food Saturday morning and had to wait for more to be made. With guest load, better anticipation of amount of food needed would have greatly decreased the wait time.

I didn’t like the fact they said hot tub and elevator, when I went both were broke down. Working out machines were hardly working, sheets had stains. Front desk lady was very rude and never able to find, as well as always on the phone.

We stayed one night during Labor Day weekend. After reading prior reviews, I was hesitant however, this property was very reasonably priced and closest to where we wanted to go the next day. So... Aahmed checked us in and out. She's a very nice person who appears to be very efficient at what she's doing. When we got to the room, we had no water. I called the desk, Aahmed told me that "they" were working on the problem and it might be a little while. Three and one half hours later, still no water. (my two young boys really needed showers!) She again assured me that "they" were working on it and very soon we would have water. We checked in at 1:39 PM. It was about 6:15 when finally the water ran. I understand that things happen to pipes and physical stuff, however, from a customer service perspective not telling me at check-in that the problem existed was a poor decision made, in my opinion, to retain the sale. Not for our comfort at all. It was inexcusable. Once upon a time, driving home from NY through PA, we got caught in a blizzard and had to stop. The hotel we stopped at told me before anything else that they would not check us in because the water wasn't running right then. They recommended another hotel at the next exit. Reminds me of something I used to hear as a youth when Macy's didn't have what a customer wanted so they recommended the customer go to Gimbel's, their main competition.

Well lit parking lot, They double changed us said that they would wave the $30 dog fee then didn't, wouldn't answer the phone for 2 days phone system said operator was not a good extension then was told that the manager would call me but 2 days and nothing instead of being charged once have 4 different charges from them, looks like furniture had been painted and is now peeling, pool was broken but was still mentioned on the web site saying they had one, only put bare minimum out for breakfast

Overall a good hotel
My family and I got 3 rooms over the weekend and we did not have any issues. I read some reviews and I was nervous about our stay but everything turned out great! The rooms were clean, the only thing the hotel should work on is changing their head boards, they were pretty worn out and they should check out the elevator it sounds like it could break down any day.
