Dirty and smelly

The halls smelled like dirty socks. The staff was nice but the breakfast bar was never stocked. No bueno.

Hotel In Bad Shape

Posted 1-Jan-2018
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: 100%, replace all carpeting. Absolutely disgusting. Hotel really needs a complete overhaul.
Booked the La Quinta for two nights late December 2017 because it had a decent review. Only upon arrival did we learn that the hotel had sustained hurricane damage and a lot of it was torn up. But the carpet in the hallways and room probably needed replacing 10 or more years ago. The carpet and bathroom floor were so gross we had to walk in our shoes. On the plus side the bedding appeared to be newish and clean, as were the towels. And the staff were friendly. Until the hotel does a complete remodel though, stay elsewhere.

Terrible is an understatement!

Posted 30-Dec-2017
The hotel was supposedly damaged by Hurricane Irma. It is going through heavy reconstructive work. None of this is mentioned in their Expedia profile. The place wreaks of humidity, the carpetiing in our room was damp, smelly and dirty. The staff is very unfriendly, except for the manager, who seemed a little bit more concerned. The rates they are charging, considering the bad shape of the place are at least twice what they should be. The worst experience on Expedia in many years! .

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience. We are sorry that we where not able to provide the service that all of our guest deserve. We are in fact in the process of reconstruction after hurricane Irma, and we are actively working on having the property back to standards. In the next few weeks we should have all of our hallway carpets replaced and painted and all the damages fixed. We hope that you will consider returning so you can experience the changes we have made. Daniele T. AGM

Nice Hotel

Posted 29-Dec-2017
The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Even though they were fixing hurricane damage, noise was minimal.

Ask for potential problems when booking

Posted 18-Dec-2017
The room and service were satisfactory, as usual. However, 1) The building was under renovation because of damage by the hurricane. This didn't interfere with anything except the appearance of the hallways. 2) Many of the rooms were booked by several high school basketball teams who noisily entered as late as 11:00 pm and remained noisy for a long time, waking me from sleep and preventing me from getting back to sleep. There were no other rooms available, so I luckily found another place to sleep and left the hotel at around midnight. My cost for that night was refunded. Had I known when I checked in that the hotel would be filled with high school boys, I would have stayed elsewhere, and I would have appreciated the hotel for the advance notice.

Nasty & Dirty

Posted 6-Dec-2017
The hotel is far from pleasant as the carpet is old and stained. The sheetrock off the walls were off so they were exposed and the rooms were no different. I had a nasty smell in the room that air freahner could not mask.

Unclean / Unkept Hotel

Posted 4-Dec-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: The attention to cleanliness
I booked this hotel for one night. There is a notice that the hotel is being repaired due to hurricane damage, that I can understand. However, my complaints are not about repairs, it was cleanliness. The carpet in the hallways and breakfast area were FILTHY - with stains and spots that had been there a long time. The breakfast room carpet was so dirty you could tell they had not been cleaned in months, maybe not even vacuumed. The trash container in the breakfast room was overflowing, with trash on the floor around it. My Room - the room itself was nice and clean. However when I went to take a shower the next morning, on shower floor there was a used shampoo bottle, so I have to assume the shower wasn't even cleaned. When I went down to the front desk to complain about the condition of the carpets and my shower, a young man was there letting them know his car had been broken into in the parking lot. While the staff was pleasant, neither my complaints nor his car break-in seemed at all surprising to them. In the end, the hotel offered to refund my money, which I accepted. This is a corporate owned LaQuiinta, not a franchise, which will make me hesitate to stay at a LaQunita again

Decent Hotel By the Airport

Posted 4-Dec-2017
I’ve always loved La Quinta Hotels but this wasn’t my best experience. There was a lot of construction going on so there was noise even when it raining. I’m assuming the roof was also being renovated. The room was rather old and you could tell it needed to be renovated. For the amount of money I paid to stay here, I would say it wasn’t worth it, but it was one night so I stayed and left in the morning. Parking was also horrible. I almost got hit twice because the lane between the two sides to park was so narrow.

Not as nice as it looks in the pictures

Posted 28-Nov-2017
The hotel is under reconstruction which I understand once in while it has to be done. My first complain is that AC will never not shut down even thought it has a thermostat. The door knobs did not work properly. My girlfriend got lock inside the bathroom, the staff had to break the door knob. They said they will fixed next day, they never did.
