With the location being right off the highway and just a few blocks down from local restaurants made it convenient for our stay. The host was great and answered our emails quickly. Very convenient for a large family. Drive to Great Sand Dunes is about 30 minutes. Ft. Garland is tiny so for anything beyond very basic groceries you will want to drive to Alamosa. The town is tiny but not terribly far from larger towns with more amenities. We really enjoyed the space to spread out and proximity to the dunes. The house had large appliances and spacious kitchen and plenty of hot water. The gas range especially was a pleasure to use. Beds were comfy. When the ice maker appeared to have quit working, Eric kindly dropped off some ice trays for our use.
