Find a timeless coastal retreat at this three-bedroom Fort Bragg cottage, a welcoming family home with a sun-splashed deck, a beautiful tree-lined property, and wonderful access to nearby towns, beaches, and ocean bluffs.

This quaint home sits on an open, grassy property, right on the edge of lush woodlands and the eastern reaches of MacKerricher State Park. Head four miles south into downtown Fort Bragg to hop on board the Skunk Train or marvel at the treasures on Glass Beach, spend afternoons exploring the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens seven miles south, and take short walks down to MacKerricher's ocean bluffs to look for passing whales and watch spectacular sunsets.

With its wood floors, large windows, and thoughtful, comfortable furnishings, this cheerful cottage is full of bucolic charm. Spend foggy mornings reading on the plush sectional sofa, cozying up by the wood-burning stove (logs are even provided), and flipping pancakes in the full country kitchen with natural wood cabinetry, standard appliances, and a dishwasher.

Take daily excursions to the artsy village of Mendocino (14 miles south) and other breathtaking stretches of California Highway 1, and return home to unwind in the sunshine on the deck. Set the dining room table or the patio table for dinner, and linger outside with a bottle of wine to watch the stars fill the night sky. Back inside, you'll have a cable TV and free WiFi to bring the evening to a relaxing close.

Escape the tourist trail on the incredible Northern California Coast - come and discover the beauties of Fort Bragg today!

Location Location
Loved this place and will return for sure. So close to the Mackerricher ocean view bike path. 60 seconds out of the driveway to see the ocean on foot. Very comfy and well appointed. Also the Wi-Fi was flawless and smart tv worked great!!

Making Memories
We had a wonderful time making memories with my elderly parents at this cozy getaway. Our family has always loved the coast of California and enjoy soaking in the sea breeze and crashing surf. This home accommodated the needs of our family and was very comfortable and relaxing. The close proximity to walking paths along the coast are a plus. I highly recommend this property.

Okay
Lots of room, clean, quick response from local team when toilet backed up. No screens as per other visitors (even little slide ins would be nice) and the access to internet, wifi and even 5G was almost non existent. Quiet neighborhood close to ocean.

Things you should know
No wi-fi, my husband is house bound and no t.v. or phones the whole stay. weeds around outside fireplace couldn't use it, nails on deck should be hit down,Dining room light sparked and quit working worried about short. We were told it was reported, but no one came to fix it... Thank you, Joy Burge

Wonderful week
Had a great time at this rental home. Walked to the beach every morning. Quiet location. Beds were comfy. Only downside, no screens on any of the windows. There are mosquitos/bees/wasps, so we couldn’t keep windows open for very long. The cool weather would have been nice to blow through the house with windows open. Great overall stay. Looking forward to staying again.

Walk to the Beach
If you're after the right kind of beach-side stay, this is your cottage. Extremely comfortable stay, easy to escape and feel solitude. Miles of beach short walk from the front door. The kind of stay you hope for. Of course internet and cell were a drip feed, but that's the point folks. Break out the cards and get some digital detox.

Enjoyable Vacation
We enjoyed the time we spent at Parkside. The house was clean and ready for us to use. There are a few issues that did arise while we were there. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the roof was leaking above the window seat in the dining room. I was on hold for 30 minutes and was finally able to speak to someone at VACASA about the leak. Due to the forecasted weather we were asked to simply put a beach towel over the area where the leak was to help limit damage. There was no way to have the issue fixed or even looked at until the weather was better. While we were disappointed about the leak (we were looking forward to sitting in the window seat to read) it did not disrupt our vacation. The water pressure in the master bathroom is non existent, it was difficult to wash your hands let alone take a shower - we all used the other bathroom which had plenty of water pressure. The last two days we had issues with the heater over night (heater was set at 70 and the house was 61). The heater never caught up to the temperature it was set at. The electric fireplace was on every minute we were in the house and the heaters in the bathrooms were helpful in staying warm while getting ready and showering. Be prepared for slow internet and constant buffering if you stream something to watch (fast.com measured 1.4 - 1.8 mbps). Overall we enjoyed our time at Parkside and we would stay there again given the opportunity. The location is ideal with beach access just a short walk down the street. The deer were fun to watch too.
