Wonderful place for a getaway!
Everything was perfect about this property! The communication beforehand with Sarah, the house, the lake, the views, the close proximity to town. EVERYTHING! The house was spotless and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the kayak’s and the large yard to play football in. The boys played basketball in the driveway and fished from the dock. Even though they didn’t catch anything they still had fun!! Jim and Sarah live next door and were available if we needed anything. But did not encroach on us whatsoever. It truly was a great place to stay. And if we find ourselves back in the area again, we will rent this property.

Relaxing cottage on the lake
Our immediate family gets together for a long weekend getaway every year. We enjoy fishing and kayaking and campfires. This place had it all, and the weather was perfect. We are talking about next year what date next year. The hosts were very quick to respond to every question. And they maintain the property perfectly.

Relaxing Labor Day Weekend
This was an outstanding cottage. Upon arrival our first stop was to view the beautiful lake. The sunrises were simply amazingly beautiful and with the great weather was able to photograph the sunrises each morning. The house was so organized and well equipped for every need right down to the outstanding amenities such as basketball, yard games, sandy beach/beach pad and not to forget the 4 kayaks/ life jackets as it was also nice to have the hose there to rinse off the kayaks. We fished off the pier everyday and used both the fire pits with natural wood as well as the gas fire pit. Spacious room in the cottage with a large living area and kitchen. There are many windows that frame the beauty of the lake as if one is viewing a photograph. The bedrooms are also spacious and again well thought out down to the night stands in each room equipped with outlets/usb ports. The owners have thought of your every need and more. Restaurants are conveniently close by. We have stayed in many other VRBOs but this one stands out as the best one yet. We will definitely return. Thank you to the owners we had a wonderful time spent with family at the cozy cottage.

Wow...what an experience! Everything was wonderful right down to the weather. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful with restaurant suggestions, fishing outlooks and local interesting places to visit. And the house itself was amazing. We have been renting places in Wisconsin for more than 40 years and this was, by far, the best place we have stayed. Already looking forward to next year!

Great property for a very comfortable stay
My adults sons, daughters in law, and myself spent a wonderful weekend here. The house was very clean and well maintained. We loved having the propane fire table on the deck and used it every night that we were there. The large trees provided welcome shade on the expansive lawn. This was great because we brought several lawns games and the set up was perfect for them. The hosts were next door and found a great balance of being available and responsive while maintaining our privacy. There are many restaurants nearby which was great for our first evening when no one wanted to cook. Absolutely the only downside was Lake Winnebago wasn’t great for swimming/floating and that is not on the hosts! The view and the breeze on the lake was ideal.

Wonderful getaway!
The first thing we noticed when we pulled up to the house was the amazing view of the lake! My husband walked to the pier before he even went into the house :) We can't say enough about how clean and well taken care of this property is! The kitchen has everything you need and very nice appliances. The couch is super comfy! We really enjoyed staying here and hope that we can get back next summer for a longer vacation! Thank you!

The house has a lot of space. The deck overlooks the lake, just a great space to enjoy the sun rise or just hang with family or friends. The property is close to town. If you plan on fishing of the dock, you will not catch a fish, too shallow, otherwise a great time.

While you are absolutely correct. our shoreline is definitely shallow, our guests and our family have had plenty of luck pier fishing. Of course I think it depends on weather, the time of year, bait used, and maybe even a little pinch of luck!

Sarah is an excellent host. Answered all my questions very quickly. The home us perfect for our needs, very nice set up. Extremely clean . Nicely stocked with all the necessary features for a care free getaway. Bedroom are great sized, nice bedding, very comfortable. Huge deck over looking the lake, AWESOME RISES over the lake. Excellent fishing. 4 kayaks can be used no extra cost (awesome perk). A whole garden wagon full of fire wood for just $10. Just call Sarah!! LOL free delivery!!! Over all one if not the best rental experience I have ever had, and we have rented quite a few all over the states. We will be back to stay in this one again!!

Very Accommodating
We were staying at this lake house as a home base for a family wedding. While we didn’t have a ton of down time, we realized it would be great to be able to play lawn games or possibly go fishing when we weren’t at wedding activities. I reached out to Sarah to check on additional lawn games (there already were a few at the house) and fishing poles - and a few hours later they were brought over to the property. There also were plenty of kayaks for our use! Sarah and Jim were so nice and very accommodating. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing Cottage on the Lake
The cottage is very clean and on a great location on Lake Winnebago. We loved our stay! The cottage is roomy (we were 7 adults), very clean and you’d be hard pressed to come up with items they have not stocked it with. We loved playing the yard games and taking the kayaks out. Communication is prompt; Sarah and Jim are awesome hosts. They checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, gave restaurant recommendations (Sunset on the Lake is a must!),…a wonderful family vacation! Thank you!

Would have been nice to know there wasn't a swimming beach; we all brought swim suits. Please consider moving the bird feeder away from the deck. Too much bird droppings on railing and deck to enjoy being on deck by day 3. Property was stocked very well. Beds great! Very clean. Beautiful lot and so quiet. Consider instructions for lighting the fireplace. Nice neighbor helped us when he saw we were struggling. Lots of room and well furnished. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your review, Patricia! It was a pleasure having you at the Cozy Cottage! My apologies that you had expected to swim and weren't able to. I am assuming with the seaweed in some areas, it didn't seem swimmable. My kids swim and splash in there all summer long, but I can understand how the seaweed can be bothersome. Unfortunately, with DNR rules, there isn't much we can do about that. For this reason, we don't list swimming anywhere on our listing, so as to not give the wrong impression. There are local swim areas I could recommend, if you ever get back to our neck of the woods! Consider the bird feeder moved! We never actually thought about that - we just thought people would enjoy watching birds of all types while relaxing on the patio. Thank you for that feedback! Thank you again - we are so glad you enjoyed your stay!

Awesome place, awesome host
I stayed at Sarah’s cozy cottage with coworkers for this year’s AirVenture Airshow, and can’t recommend this place enough! It’s a beautiful spot right on the water; quiet area, spacious house, and very clean. Sarah is a wonderful host! She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is about a 20-minute drive from the AirVenture grounds, but we had a rental car so it was no problem. Overall would highly recommend.

Wonderful vacation spot!
Beautiful property/lake, sparkling clean, indoor/outdoor games, well stocked kitchen, 4 kayaks, conscientious hosts; what more can I say about this wonderful home away from home for a family vacation! We had a family of 5 adults and one baby, so we had a bedroom to spare, and lots of room to spread out and enjoy the view and yard games. There is a lovely deck (lots of sitting) to watch morning sunrises, and a gas firepit if the evening gets chilly. If you have stayed on inland lakes and fought with mosquitos in the evening, not an issue here – they spray, not one bite!

Lovely get away on the lake
Our group of two families (4 adults, 2 kids) stayed here over the 4th of July while visiting family in the area. The house is fantastic! It's roomy, well-appointed, and in the perfect spot. Just sitting on the porch felt idyllic. We BBQ'd, went kayaking on the lake, and watched the 4th of July fire works from the dock. The owners are very responsive. We would love to stay again when we are back in the area!

Lovely spot to enjoy family time
Other than the weather, everything was great! House is roomy, deck is fantastic and yard to dock is awesome. Kids fished off the dock a lot, even catching a few. Kitchen is well stocked with standard tools, and we even found a frozen pizza in the freezer (too late to eat) but a nice touch! Bedrooms are neat and tidy. The property owners are very nice to work with and responsive to questions. Would rent from them again!

Perfect lake house amenities
This lake house was the perfect get away for our group of 7! Interior was very spacious, extremely clean, and had all of the amenities we wanted. Outdoor area was fantastic with a huge lawn to play games. Kayaks and yard games provided by the host was a HUGE plus! Great area for fishing off the dock or taking the kayaks out. Would recommend this stay for anyone looking for a home away from home.

Great location. Tons of room. Beautiful view!
We had a crew of 2 adults and 4 tween/teens. The property is beautiful. The house has plenty of space for everyone to spread out if it’s a rainy day. But if it’s nice out, you’ll want to be outside! There is a huge deck with a gate, sprawling lawn, and plenty of water to play, fish, or just enjoy the view. We highly recommend this property.
