This listing is for the top floor of a two-level duplex which sits one block from the beach and about a mile from fantastic restaurants and nightlife on Center Street. Enter by way of the covered veranda on the second floor, a wonderful place to sip cold glasses of sweet tea in cushioned outdoor seats. Step inside to be greeted by central air conditioning, a delightfully bright and open layout, and decor that's at once modern and charming. To one side of the great room is a sitting area with dual sofas and a wall-mounted flatscreen TV; to the other is an airy kitchen with stainless steel appliances, brass hardware, and a cooking island with bar seats for two. Glass doors on either side of the room lead to furnished decks outside. In the evenings, there are three beautifully decorated bedrooms to choose from, including two primary suites with private bathrooms that feature dual vanities. The house is sturdy and we felt very safe the entire time. The little town of Folly Beach was sweet and welcoming. We never had a worry. However there were a few things that made our trip frustrating. The management company (VACASA) was very disappointing in their responses to issues. Mainly we did not have internet connectivity the entire week we were there and VACASA would constantly say they passed the issue to the local maintenance personnel but they only contacted us once. The router was located in the unit below so we could not access it to reset it. Then halfway through our trip the unit below went under renovation which was extremely loud and we were never told about this. Then the renovators permanently disconnected the cable connection which made the internet connection impossible to fix during our stay. The unit also needed some maintenance work as the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall, the fridge door holders are broken and could not hold weight, and we saw several ants in the unit. The rental company did reimburse some of the amount of the stay but it would have been nice to not have the disruptions and have our internet connection established. ##### James D. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Less than a 5 minute walk from the beach, it was easy to walk home for lunch or a quick bathroom break. Our only disappointment was the road noise. While it didn’t bother us when we were inside the house, when we sat outside on the porch the constant loud cars and motorcycles was distracting as Ashley is the main road to the north end of the island.
