You are paying key west prices for a property that needs some work done. It’s a motel so I understand. But the pricing was entirely too high for what you got there

We love the location of this property. The only suggestion I would make is that the rooms need a little bit of an update. Staff was excellent and the fact that we had our own little bar to sit and listen to music in every night was a huge plus.

Budget hotel in a good area but room is very small. The room needs to have space to put things down in the bathroom and the air conditioner blows directly on the bed two feet away!

Location, location, location! Staff was great...and plentiful. Older rooms, but perfectly fine for a Key West experience. Live music at night was great. While being right on the street, we still felt very safe, and the constant hum from the wall AC drowned out any street noise. Bed was super comfy and we slept great!! Will definitely stay there again.

The motel itself was just okay, but I was not expecting a lavish place. It was however the most lively place around us. No other hotel or motel had a party going on outside in the evening like this motel. The bar, store, and ice cream truck kept this place lively and hopping well into the night. I enjoyed the place. It was near Duval Street and had easy access to many places. Parking was easy.

I was a little nervous about staying in this small motel. But it is located in the perfect spot. There is a bar that plays music at night right by our hotel, its next to a donut shop that is open late, and groceries across the street. The rooms were all you need in Key West. It was VERY clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

for a 2 star motel this is as nice as it gets. it is an old motel that is obviously well maintained and staff is great. rooms are small but clean. location is great. they gave us passes to access beach club with pools and bar that was nice.

The location was perfect. Easy walk to the beach and Duval Street. The bar right beside the motel, the tipsy rooster, was great. The pool was very clean and nice size. They also will give you a voucher for free chairs and towels at the beach. The room and bathroom were small but clean and did the job! Would definitely stay here again!

It’s a place to sleep and shower. If that’s all you need, you can get it here. But keep in mind the place is noisy, old, small rooms. It’s a motel, and an old one at that The $45 “ resort fee” is the most innacurate term for an add on fee ever at this place. They charge you a resort fee, yet don’t have bottled water for you. Oh wait, they do!! They sell it to you out of a vending machine….. We would not stay here again.

Staff was extremely helpful and friendly! Did not get much sleep due college boys partying until 4:00AM most nights. They were extremely loud. Garbage truck arriving at 5AM all but 1 morning was very noisy. Once we addressed the partying with staff it resolved the issue for most part. Would ask to be in another area besides room 38/little pool area.

My wife and I liked the location of this property; very easy to get to Duval St from here. Everything within walking distance. There are two pools (one heated, one not). We spent a day by the unheated pool and enjoyed that. Pool was clean and plenty of chairs to use. There are only 2 umbrellas and we thought a couple more might be nice. We liked that the room had a mini fridge in it and the option of a microwave was also nice (we didn’t use it but nice to know we had the option). The staff was mostly friendly. A/C worked well and there was a ceiling fan as well. What we didn’t care for was the room itself. It’s very outdated and it almost feels like you’re sleeping in an attic. There were fruit flies in our bathroom. And while the staff would make the bed I don’t think they ever changed the bedding. For a 5 night stay I would think they’d change the sheets at least once. Bathroom was always stocked with fresh towels (even if you hung them up instead of leaving on the floor to replace). But bathroom was tiny. And shower tile wasn’t inviting at all. Our room faced a parking lot (who cares) but there was an external light right outside the window. As such it was never dark in our room at night. The bed itself wasn’t very comfortable. Next time I would spend a little more money to stay somewhere else.

There is road construction going on right beside the hotel. Trying to relax in the pool while hearing heavy equipment was hard to listen too. Across the street at Santa Maria, every day they have maintenance men that use very loud electric blowers for over an hour. It was very loud too. The pillows need to be newer and more comfortable. Overall for the price it is to be expected.

Modest and no frills as far as the room goes but you’ll have everything you need! Bar and two pools on property and everything you’ll need within walking distance. Mallory square was a 20 minute leisure walk but there’s much more within a few blocks. You’re closer to the beaches and southern most point, a block away from Duval street so you can have a quieter sleep. The rooms are comfortable but if you’re like us and don’t care to spend much time in the hotel room then I would highly recommend. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

First off, It is extremely warm in Key West and if your going to be in the Motel business the AC units need to work. we got our room about 3:00pm, turned the AC down to 60 and now it’s 1:30 am in the morning and our room is like 75 degrees. They have residential window units in them. It’s hot and i’m not going to be able to sleep. 2. They offer laundry but they only have one washer and one dryer. (it’s also a residential model) need a room for laundry with more machines and they need to be commercial machines. 3. The small pool was dirty and the big pool had clear water but the tile around the water line needs to be cleaned. 4. Very Noisey! They have an outside music and bar and they play past 11pm. i could hear it in my room. 5. Very small bathrooms and the shower drain was stopped up so had to stop and let it drain No AC in the bathroom so they will hot and making me sweat as soon as i turn off the shower. 6. You have to walk all the way around the blgs to get to anything. no walkway that cuts between the pools. This is a 50.00 a night Motel and they are charging 430.00!! We were very disappointed in our stay here.

All of the staff was amazingly friendly and supportive. There wasn't anything fancy about Southwinds but it was comfortable, clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was excellent - near a beach, great bars and restaurants. I would stay there again.

The location is great but just know it’s a 2 star and that’s what you are getting. The rooms are very outdated and need some work. AC unit makes such a noise, you can hear everything from outside and hopefully you don’t get put by the trash cans as you will be able to hear the rolling of trash cans and the closing of lids from your room. The rooms are tiny and very dark. While this property is a 2 star and correctly reflects that it doesn’t warrant the price. Nothing wrong with outdated and tiny places but not for over $350 a night.

Room was not what was pictured online. Was very small, didn’t have a dresser, very small closet space and no counter space in bathroom. Our friends stayed there as well and they’re rooms were nothing like ours :(

This motel has a 1960's feel, which is I like - single story, pool in the center. It has onsite parking, which is a huge plus if you have a car, and the free continental breakfast, while pretty basic - muffins, yogurt, cereal - is a convenient perk. My room was dated but clean and quiet. Easy to walk to the heart of Old Town in 10-15 minutes. I would stay there again.
