Cet appartement récemment rénové est situé au premier étage d'un immeuble ancien à 50 mètres de la Piazza Pitti. Il fait environ 45 mètres carrés et présente la particularité rare d'un beau jardin clos qui, se trouvant à l'arrière de la bâtisse, est un havre de paix et de chants d'oiseaux au centre de la ville. Le séjour dispose d'une mezzanine avec un lit double. Au niveau inférieur se trouvent un canapé-lit confortable et un coin salon, une grande armoire, un bureau et un espace de travail avec connexion Internet et une grande fenêtre donnant sur le jardin. La cuisine spacieuse comprend une table traditionnelle en marbre pouvant accueillir confortablement quatre personnes, un coin fauteuil et une porte donnant sur le jardin. La salle de bain est réalisée en pierre pâle avec du carrelage gris ardoise au sol : elle est contemporaine et chic et vraiment assez grande pour un appartement de cette taille. Il y a aussi un petit débarras. Il y a des planchers en chêne partout. Le jardin est rempli de jasmin et de roses anciennes grimpant sur les murs et d'herbes fraîches à utiliser dans votre cuisine toscane : une table et des chaises constituent un endroit parfait pour les repas et les apéritifs en plein air. Bien que nous louions actuellement cet appartement, nous l'avons délibérément restauré dans le but de l'utiliser un jour comme notre propre pied-à-terre à Florence, nous n'avons donc pas lésiné sur les raccourcis ! Our primary challenge was due to a rail strike on the day of our arrival, and we came to find out how tightly coordinated the check-in time needs to be. The apartment was a real find, with it’s own secluded courtyard garden (rarely found in Firenze) and perfectly located within a few minutes walk of the main attractions, museums and galleries. The upper mezzanine bed was supplied with crisp sheets and comfy with some air fans and A/C for hotter nights. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops and gelato outlets plus a dog friendly park just 10 minutes walk away, meant this was a perfect choice to explore. The only back stop was when I booked it showed a lift which was out of order. Not good to carry your heavy luggage up 24 stairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved the private courtyard. Nicky is a wonderful host. We would come back in a heart beat.So close to restaurants and shopping. It had everything we needed, and everything was to a good standard, particularly the kitchen. The garden was so nice, we loved coming back after a morning site seeing to relax in the garden before heading out again. Communication with Nicky was very good both before and during our stay. The kitchen was large, well-stocked and accessible. The location is perfect; a five minute walk to Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, and another few to the Uffizi Galleries, Palazzo Vecchio, and Piazza della Signoria. And of the half dozen apartments we rented across northern Italy on this trip, this was the only one at which the host met us at the door and made sure we got a warm, friendly welcome. Plus I would have preferred to have contacted the booking agent direct to share our concerns, but that has not been possible. Therefore I am leaving a review, which will be mainly negative, for which I am sorry.We had hoped for a cosy week away over Christmas. However the apartment was far from cosy. The boiler isn’t straight forward and doesn’t seem able to warm the small apartment up. The radiators failed to warm through completely, so it told me that the system wasn’t setup properly. Given it was freezing weather during our weeks stay in Florence, we needed a reliable heat source.Also the lack of carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, are a concern but we were advised these are planned.Also whilst the kitchen has ample storage, some good basic equipment would be greatly appreciated.The pluses for the apartment are its location, so central and therefore virtually everything is walkable.Also the apartment is quiet and located well away from street noise, so again ideal. But for the price this apartment doesn’t have the wow factor.In fact all the accommodation after this initial week, four other stays, all far exceeded this property.We could only recommend this property for a stay during warmer months, as the cool and the garden would be welcome and come into their own.Finally whilst we have used Vrbo a number of times for booking accommodation, this has made us review our booking options in the future ##### Kevin B.
