The apartment is located beside the Santacroce Chathedral, one of the most important cathedral. It is a 10 minute walk from the Duomo (main cathedral of Florence) and the Ufizzi gallery( which owns some of the most important pieces of art work of the renaissance). To get to the apartment, there are 36 pretty steps to climb, but it is well worth the journey. Completely renovated in early 2010, the 55sqm apartment consists of 1 bedroom, a living room 1 bathroom and a tiny terrace with a breathtaking view of the surrounding historical center. The apartment reflects its exterior surroundings as it has been carefully decorated in a typically Florentine fashion. Once you enter the apartment on that has two windows on the Via San Giuseppe and has a splendid view of the basilica and of the belltower of Santa Croce. The room with a Queen-sized bed is very comfortable and entirely furnished with antiques. Next in the apartment, to the right we find the lounge, with a characteristic ceiling in wood and Tuscan terracotta, the floors are furnished with parquet flooring. The living room is furnished with two sofas, one of which it a comfortable queen size bed. The living room also consists of a small library, and a television set. The bathroom, is large and comfortable with bathtub, hand held shower, sink and bidet. The kitchen, has two windows with view on the skyline of the historical center, perfectly equipped, with a dishwasher, washing machine, capable refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven, blender, toaster, coffee maker. The apartment provides air conditioning and winter heating. The apartment is ideal for a vacation to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Florence like its residents live it, given that the apartment is found near one of the most attended markets, S, Ambrogio (well-known for the fruit and the vegetables, sold directly from the farmers) and next to the market of San Lorenzo, in a rich zone of local and refreshing attended by the Florentines. A noter que la propriétaire ne repond pas aux messages écrits via la messagerie abritel ni aux sms. Ne donne aucune information pratique hormis un parking auquel nous ne pouvions pas avoir accès. Il est accessible (au 3e étage) par un petit escalier pas très commode lorsqu'on a des bagages ou un peu de mal à se mouvoir. Il vaut mieux le savoir avant de le choisir, mais si ce n'est pas un problème, on profite de la vue et de la vraie vie florentine. L'appartement est typique et personnalisé. La chambre est vaste, lumineuse et donne sur la rue (ce qui veut dire que les bruits de la rue sont perceptibles notamment la nuit). La cuisine est bien aménagée et très claire (quelques éléments de vaisselle supplémentaires, verres assiettes, seraient bienvenus). Les literies (chambre et canapé du salon) sont confortables. Le salon n'a pas de fenêtre, donc reste assez sombre même la journée. Une lampe supplémentaire le rendrait plus agréable. Rosalba a répondu très gentiment et rapidement à tous nos petits soucis d'installation (codes, mot de passe WIFI - en minuscules, impérativement ;-) - ) En conclusion, quelques jours à Florence inoubliables ! ##### odile V. Nous avons passé une semaine très agréable avec nos deux fils dans cet appartement. Rosalba , la propriétaire est très sympathique et toujours disponible en cas de questions. Il est parfaitement situé et donne sur Santa croce, le palazzio vecchio est à 5 minutes en marchant. C'est un vrai plaisir de se retrouver au centre historique dès qu'on sort de la maison. Il est bien équipé avec wifi et air conditionné ( nous n'avons pas eu besoin de l'utiliser). Le salon est sombre mais la chambre et la cuisine sont lumineuses et donnent sur de belles vues. Il y a une petite terrasse qui est agréable pour prendre le café ou boire un verre. Il y a une trentaine de marches mais ce n'est pas un problème. On entend bien la rue depuis la chambre à coucher mais cela fait juste ressentir l'ambiance sympa du quartier. Nous recommandons vous vivement cet appartement. ##### franck v. Gave it 3 stars, it's more like 3.5\. The stairs are narrow and steep, I think there are 45 or so, and they are worn so you feel like you are going to slide off. The bathroom was long and narrow, same with bathtub so it was hard to shower without touching the shower curtain. The bed was rock hard, I'm a side sleeper and my hips were aching each morning. Bedroom could use a dresser so you don't have to live out of your suitcase. The lock on the patio door had just broken so that was a little unnerving. Great to have a washer but it left the close pretty wet and the clothes took a while to dry.We still recommend the rental if those issues don't bother you. ##### Andrew F. After staying one week, I decided to stay another week because I felt so comfortable and at home here. It had the feel of FLORENCE. The bedroom was very comfortable, and I loved the desk and the view of the church Santa Croce steeple. The windows brought in light. The terrace was delightful to have coffee or wine. The host was very responsive. It was magical when the bells rang. My stay in FLORENCE was very special because of this location.The kitchen had everything you would need and the view and light was wonderful as well. Grocery store and markets nearby a plus. Very convenient to all sites and felt safe. The stairs were a bit for me because my bags were heavy but in all just fine. The couch was comfortable but front was sagging so might need replacing in future but I truly enjoyed my stay.
