I have a difficult time finding anything positive about our stay. The online rating for this property is clearly not a true reflection of the property. We checked in late at night and when we walked into the room we were immediately hit with a strong foul odor like old urine. Desk person brought us a bottle of air freshener but that didn’t help. We could not wait to get out of the room and back on the road. Never again at this or other HJ’s.

We stayed here for one night on our way back to Canada. The room was modern/ upgraded and very clean. The price was excellent at $71. /night. Would highly recommend this property. Continental breakfast included. Check in process with the gentleman however was extremely slow and we were the only ones checking in . The lady at checkout was grumpy and not friendly at all. We were on second floor and there are no elevators.

Given that, to my knowledge, they are not building new HoJos, this one, at least my room, was renovated and in good shape. Slightly better than one might expect for thr rate.

We arrived at 2am but we called at 7pm and receptionist left a note that we would be there about 2am. When we arrived the night receptionist was extremely rude. We let that go and did not say anything. When we got to our room the door was open and made us feel super uncomfortable and anxious. Room was dirty! Mirrors were disgusting, toothpaste in sink, bathroom had hair in drain dirty toilet and nasty shower! We will never go back!!!!

Staff was friendly. Sheets were clean and towels were clean but there were dead bugs on the floor around the table between the two queen beds. The luggage holder was broken so I couldn’t put my luggage UP off the floor had to put it in the tub for the night. Microwave was all rusted around interior of the door and there was a live cockroach on the wall up by the ceiling. I slept in my clothes with my pants tucked into my socks. No clue how breakfast was didn’t want to chance it after the bugs. Left right away in the morning. Glad I had only booked one night.

This was a very good stay for the money. While not in the best neighborhood, I felt safe and relaxed from my travels. Can’t beat good value for the $!
