The neighbors next door were slamming doors at night . Someone was knocking on our hotel room door , it was a loud hallway overall . Walls are paper thin you can hear every conversation in the room next door . Shower head did not work . No phone in a room to call reception . Lots of stairs ( like a maze ). No extra blankets .AC took about 6 hours to cool the room .

Decent Location-below average amenities/condition
Stayed for three nights. First morning went to breakfast but nearly everything was all gone so we went and bought breakfast somewhere else. Tried again day two and breakfast was just grocery store items removed from containers and placed in hotel containers. Skipped it third day and went to a bar for breakfast. We had no working Wi-Fi the entire stay, had a couch in center of room that felt wet and was incredibly old and worn that I didn’t want to sit on it. Showered in day one and the 18x18 inch shower clogged up in two mins and took five mins to drain. Had a two min shower and didn’t shower again. Brought issue up and it was not fixed our remaining two days. Had four persons staying there so expected actual amenities in bathroom. We bought our own toilet paper bc provided toilet paper was tougher than recycled napkins at McDonald’s and only shampoo provided were tiny salad dressing styled plastic bags that were very faded indicating they had been in the dish for a long time. Paying 165$ a night should get you proper containers of shampoo conditioner and body wash in my opinion, proper toilet paper and furniture in main room under 35 years old. I have traveled all over Europe and know that many hotels are not five star American standard but this was not what I was lead to believe it would be by the hotels.com reviews. Bed was comfortable enough and check in went quickly.

We ended up leaving and not staying.The pictures do not match what this hotel is. It had a a horrible smell. The furniture was old and dirty. The bathroom was a closet with mold.

Extremely small bathroom but might return…
Our only issue with the stay was that the shower was extremely small. My husband and I are both average/small size people and the shower in our particular room was too small. We had to choose between letting the shower curtain touch us while we showered (separately, because like I said it was really small) OR let it guide the water out onto the rest of the also small bathroom. Thankfully they had a good amount of towels and they replaced them the following morning without needing to request it. Then again, the staff were so kind and friendly that I’m sure it wouldn’t have been an issue if we needed to ask. We can’t speak on breakfast since we had plans that caused us to leave earlier than breakfast time. The bed was decent. No drawers. The table was extremely small so we had to keep unpacking our bags on the bed whenever we needed something. I wouldn’t recommend the room we stayed in for longer than 3 days, but we did like this location and would consider returning to stay here again in the future.

Nothing super spectacular but it does the job for a couple nights. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Wifi is a bit tricky and we didn't always get the best service in our room but the air conditioning is great - and very important during Italian summer months. Great location, short walk to lots of popular attractions.

Great hotel.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was a short walk to the market, restaurants, and sites to see. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again even though there was no elevator.

Lovely staff!
The staff was excellent. Extremely friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was sufficient, however the shower was a bit small. Our only concern was some mold in the corner of the bathroom. The gentleman at the front desk did offer a different room but we decided to stay with our room, as we liked the refrigerator which was a pleasant surprise! Again the staff could not have been nicer which we greatly appreciated.

The only little thing I woild sugest for this hotel is to please replace the shower curtain for a glass window. It is a little bit unconnfortable to take the shower with the curtain so close to the body..

Convenient and clean hotel
Hotel Veneto is based at a very central location, <10 min walk from the train station and close to the central market. The concierge provided lots of useful tips and places to visit. There was a party at the university nearby which was very loud, so try to avoid a room facing the street if you want some sleep.

The room was cold, as in frigid. It was mid-October and hotel staff informed me that the heat was not turned on until November 1st. It was cold that night and the windows were old with only a single pane of glass thick--hence, it was cold in the room. I slept under the four blankets provided, but needed my jeans and leather jacket laying over me to finally relax into sleep. BTW, it is hard to sleep with chattering teeth. There was also a disturbance down the hall with another guest yelling angrily at someone, sometime around 3 am, which lasted about 15 minutes. This was after a trans-Atlantic flight with almost no sleep. This hotel did NOT provide a restful welcome mat for my European vacation. So glad I was only there one night.

Mediocre hotel
Very well located hotel, but that is about where the positives end. The room was cold, some lights were burnt out, and the WiFi did not work all the time. Wouldn't go back.

It was a very nice Hotel the room was clean and nice. the AC wasnt working that good and sleeping at 35" wasnt so pleasant; I didn't like the fact that the Wifi didn't work that well and that you had to login everytime you wanted to use it. but the person at the front desk was very nice and he offered his PC to do my check in.

Basic and not bad for the price
If you want basic and you don't want to pay too much then this place is ok. However the facilities were in a bit of tired state and unfortunately it was noisy at times (I accept that isn't the hotel's fault). The breakfast was fine and there was a fair selection for the price. All in all, not dreadful, but not amazing either.

Ideally placed in the historical district
Florence is idyllic and the hotel is perfectly placed for visiting all the main places of interest. A basic hotel to be sure, but clean, friendly and if you are in Florence you do not spend time in your hotel.

Rooms and bathrooms are dirty. Covers are stained. Hotel staff is clueless and impossible to find. The breakfast room is a joke, all dishes and tablecloth were dirty. Food is completely unorganized.

We were extremely disappointed with the hotel when we arrived. The pictures on line were not representative of the hotel, I had recently recovered from a broken ankle and there was no mention of not having an elevator. Although they advertised air conditioning it did not work. We changed rooms three times . The curtains were so sheer you could see straight into our room and bath from the apartment next door, the walls do thin we could here the neighbor singing in the shower. My wife and I both received spider bites in the room, neither was there hot weather until the third room. We called hotels.com but they would not get us out of our week long reservation not would they help us find another room , we finally found a new hotel but lost hundreds of dollars.

The hotel was in a good central location near all the main sites. It had some good bars and cafes near the hotel. I found the room good value for what I paid and hotel staff very pleasant and helpful.

Good price close to all the sights.
This was a good budget hotel close to the city centre. I was upgraded to a family room after the room they initially had for me had no working lights. But the room was clean, and the room had wifi for the majority of my stay (quite a strong connection as well). The breakfast was typical of Italian hotels (a lot of cakes and sweets), though the coffee was not particularly good. Well located near the station and the central market, which has a lot of food buying options. Opposite the university cafeteria, so it can be noisy into the night.Overall a good option for the price.
