The biggest problem of this place is that security are advised not to allow guests to bring food and drink to the room. Signs claim this is due to food safety issues but I doubt Morocco or Fes is such a dirty place that this is necessary. It rather sounds like they make up for the bargain prices by getting the lost revenue in through the back door.
For any average hotel I would rate the place excellent and recommendable, but if they want to be a 5 star place they need to give the 5 star treatment, and they definitely fail there. Staff are friendly and mostly helpful, but they could do better. They seemed to be pretty disinterested unless it was about making money: Everything I asked directions for was just 'right at the petrol station' and nobody tried to make sure I knew where I was going. Maybe they were too busy keeping an eye on guests, making sure nobody would bring up drinks...
Before bookng I read a review from a fellow traveller about this. So I did email the Ramada inquiring if this was true. The Hotel did not have the courtesy to reply. Eventually the price dropped to silly levels (making it viable to stay there and buy all food/drinks from them) so I booked anyways.
Another thing was making phonecalls. I tried to ask what they charge, I was only told that calls are charged by impulses. After making the actual call it was way more expensive than estimated by the receptionist...
