Every one was really friendly and the place just had that personal touch. The building itself also has a lot of character and the breakfast was good too

Upon arrival the entrance area was full of leaves and cigarette buts, There was no food available so had to get a takeaway, the internal doors were in need of a good scrub, the stair/ landing carpet was filthy and so was the bedroom carpet so much so I kept my socks on until I got into bed. The duvet only just covered the bed, the tea/ coffee had been replenished in the room, the toilet seat was showing bare wood. The breakfast was continental with no cooked available. You really do get what you pay for.!

Rooms are so close together that I could hear the TV from the next room. Heaters automatically turn on and off, there is no switch. You won't know when you'd feel warm or cold.

I loved the quirkiness of the hotel, and it's history. The staff are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. My room was supposed to have a ghost but it didn't appear during my stay! I would definitly stay again and recommend to anyone who prefers hotels with character
