A Note from the Owner: "Spending his early years in up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, my father "Petit Glion", colloquially "ti'glion". This was shortened to "Tigli" and finally to "Tig". The nickname stuck as the family traveled from station to station over the years. Pier Cove was an anchor and home base, and my grandmother spent her post-retirement life. She hosted children and grandchildren through the Summers, trying to keep us from dragging the beach back into the house on sand-caked feet from our sun-filled days and bonfire nights. Those Summers inspired me to start a marshmallow company, Malvi Mallow, to capture the joy of Summer in Michigan. We built "The Tig at Lakeshore" to harbor new adventures and make way for fresh cherished memories for our children and guests. Refrigerator Size: The home features a compact refrigerator, which has less storage capacity than a standard-size fridge. Please plan ahead when packing or purchasing groceries. Nature & Wildlife: This home is nestled in a beautiful natural setting where wildlife and insects are part of the experience. Routine pest control services are in place, but from time to time, you may encounter a curious critter, especially if doors are left open. If you notice any signs of pests indoors, please contact our office so we can promptly address it. Septic System: The home operates on a septic system. Only flush toilet paper and human waste. Flushing wipes, feminine products, or other items can result in backups and damage. Guests may be held financially responsible for service calls or damage due to improper use. Well Water: The home uses well water filtered through a reverse osmosis system, making it safe to drink. However, it may taste or smell different than city water. The naturally high mineral content in the area can sometimes leave an orange tint on white surfaces, including tubs, toilets, and linens washed at the home. This is normal and not harmful. Highly recommended this place. We stayed two nights but wish we had more time. Great views of the lake. Front porch was perfect. Outdoor dining table was great. Charcoal grill was exactly what I wanted. Fire pit in back was enjoyed by all. Used the sauna too. The kitchen was VERY well stocked. Very short walk to the public beach and access. You can walk the beach for miles once you get to the park access.Mill Pond Realty was our host. They were great to work with. Only strange thing for me was that you had to visit their office in downtown Saugatuck to check in. It’s almost a 15 minute drive to the property. Slightly inconvenient in my opinion.
