Excellent hotel, great location , good breakfast ,friendly staff and always happy to help. Nice and clean rooms. Separate room dedicated as smoking place on the ground floor was a positive surprise. Definitely will stay in this hotel again.
"Hotels used for 4 day trip to catch a Serie A game"
Hotel used a base for a 4 day trip to the city which revolved around my 10 year old son and I catching a Serie A game, Bologna play Palermo.
I am not a "shopper", however, much to my surprise the shopping is very good, loads of small shops dotted around under the covered walk ways that line the streets. As they say you don't need an umbrella when it's raining in Bologna. The flea market is worth a look as is walking down"via dell Indenpendenza" for window shopping.
The hotel buffet breakfast has plenty on offer. More than enough to cover the pickiest of kids or adults.Staff were cheery, spoke more than enough English to assist and were very helpful. An example of this was receptionist Simone who greatly assisted us in giving maps, bus numbers, costs and the location of the best places to buy tickets for the Bologna game. Her colleague's also assisted in pointing us towards good restaurants and locations for shopping for Bologna FC merchandise. Both ladies could not have been more helpful and without their genuine assistance the attempt to get match tickets would have been much more difficult.
One additional detail which should not be overlooked is that this hotel is about 15 minutes by taxi away from the hotel. This makes it quick and cheap (15 Euros) to get to and from.
I'd definitely wish to return to the city of Bologna. This hotel is situated in a good spot for walking in and out of the main Piazza Maggiore. This is the hotel is will use when I return.
This hotel was recommended by a friend, he said the hotel was very nice and the restaurant was amazing. All of this was true the hotel staff was friendly the rooms were thoroughly cleaned and linens changed each day, even the inside and out of the bedroom windows were cleaned for the view. Just outside of town 12 euro cab ride away from everything and very reasonably priced, even the dining was five star. Highly recommend this Hotel
We stayed here during the week of the Cersaie exhibition and found the hotel very comfortable. The location was very handy with a direct bus stopping just outside the hotel every 12 minutes for the show site. Our room was large and with two single beds pushed together still very comfortable. It had a more dated/traditional style of décor than a lot of the exhibition area hotels which can be more modern and stark. The restaurant Garagnelli at the sister property across the road was very good, if a little expensive. Breakfast was the usual continental meats, cheese, pastries and cereal - more than adequate for our needs.
Bologna's sprawling exhibition center, one of Europe's largest, is set 3 km northeast of the downtown area. Here, 18 pavilions house expos for the food, fashion, and auto industries, among others. Aerobus shuttles link from the airport for most events; this trade fair district is also served by a dedicated toll road--and for the biggest events, a dedicated rail station, BolognaFiere.
