5/5 Excellent

Beautiful views
The view was incredible. We loved the location, and it was so close to the National Redwoods as well as many other state parks nearby. Great location for all the hikes we wanted to do. Very comfortable home with basic accommodations. We really enjoyed our stay. Only wished for a couple more of amenities. Wish there was a blow dryer since I forgot mine. Also it would have been nice to have a table outside to eat meals and soak up the view. It was fantastic otherwise!

4/5 Good

Beautiful views
The location was nice with beautiful view of the river mouth from the deck. However, the deck needs more than 2 chairs considering it is a 3 bedroom house. The kitchen was not the cleanest, especially the refrigerator, but the rest of the house was OK. We smelled the odor in the back hall and bathroom that others complained of. Our biggest concern is that there is no landline despite no WiFi or cell service. There were wildfires in the town we came from and had no way of contacting our families. Also, Steve was unwilling to give us the door code early when we were driving through Eureka where there was reliable cell service. Consequently, we had trouble reaching him once we got near the house. I had to text him about a minor concern but didn’t receive a timely reply, again because of no cell service. If you want to be unplugged while on vacation this is the place but I would suggest a landline be installed for emergencies.

Great location
This property is close to great hiking along the coast as well as in the redwoods, and it had a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay!

5/5 Excellent

Beautiful view, great location
Enjoyed our stay very much. Clean, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of extra blankets for sitting out on the back porch to enjoy the lovely view and the stars. Could use a few more chairs for outside, luckily we brought camping chairs. No internet (and we had no cell service with T-mobile or Verizon), so pack some board games and extra DVDs with you. We went hiking in nearby Prairie Creek Redwoods SP. Would definitely recommend for a nice getaway off grid.
