Our room was a four poster room, bed was lovely but beware, four poster bed rooms overlook the carpark and are also above a banqueting suite. Upon check in, we asked reception if there were any functions that night and if it were going to be noisy as if so, could they move us to another part of the hotel now to avoid any potential issues as this was our first break away from our young daughter. They said it would be fine as there were no other functions planned.
We went for a swim at the really nice leisure facilities and on our way back saw things being set up for the evening. We asked a different receptionist who said she was surprised we had not been told this upon booking but that there was a sixthform leavers do that night but not to worry, it was in another part of the hotel. It wasn't and the noise from the exit and carpark kept us awake most of the night. We had no sleep as Reception on two occasions chose to lie to us. Gym was great, breakfast poor.
