Last minute indulgence primarily to use the Spa we werent disappointed at the price point. Yes its a little rough around the edges and the restaurant has no ambience; but room was fine, hotel was clean, staff were attentive, food at the Brasserie bery good, at the price hard to fault anything. Would go again.

The whole hotel is lacking in investment and maintenance and almost no consideration is shown to guests and how their rooms may be affected by other hotel facilities. Very poor.

The property in general needs investment and ongoing maintenance which judging by the two rooms I had to stay in during my three night stay is currently lacking. The initial superior room I had was right next to the boiler room which emitted not only an uncomfortably high temperature but also an unacceptable noise every three or so minutes including all throughout the night, and the television signal was also very poor. I was then moved to another superior room only for not only that television signal to be equally as poor but also the room had a blocked off door as part of the room layout which had glass window panels in with no curtain which meant the room was flooded with floodlight from the car park at night and early morning daylight. Not good enough for the price.

Mostly good once we found the entrance!
We had problems finding the entrance. We ended up at the function room and the telephone signal was too bad for me to phone reception to ask where I was. Better lighting at the entrance would help. We got to the rather pricey breakfast rather late and it had been there for a very long time. We had some lovely fresh fried eggs on request. The swimming pool was wonderful.

The hotel looks great when you pull up. However, my room was quite dated with peeling wallpaper. The shower was nice and powerful, though. Food in the restaurant was very average, despite not being cheap. The real issue I have with the hotel is that they tried to charge me for a meal that my colleague had already paid for. Naturally, I challenged it, but they printed off a detailed breakdown of all the food and drinks we'd had. Not what you expect and it may catch someone else out when they are checking out of the hotel. Would not return.

1. Staff - reception staff and cleaning staff helpful and kind - many thanks to them. 2.Spa on the other hand - I do not expect to be greeted with "what do you want buddy" - very rude and disrespectful. Jacuzzi was not nearly hot enough. Towels should be provided at the spa. 3. It is very dangerous that the front of the hotel is unlit at night 4. Fridge needed in the room, should be part of the offer at this level of hotel. 5. Bathroom good and mattress very good 6. Nice country walks around hotel

So-so
Nice location, grounds, spa/pool facilities, restaurant. A number of issues let it down. Postcode given in sat nav leads along very narrow country lanes to rear of hotel with no easy way back round to the front. Electricity in room didn't work. Suspect faulty circuit breaker but staff wouldn't confirm. After repair, key card didn't work. Back to reception again for replacement. Rain leaking into foyer and into lift shaft. Noisy room from compressor (bar cooler?). Noise from music testing in events space at 7am! No safe box in room.

Had a trip with work and was a very enjoyable stay. The food was excellent and the two girls waiting on in the restaurant were excellent even though it was very busy. Would stay here again, without hesitation.

Country hotel with good leisure facilities
Country hotel with golf course and good leisure facilities. Has a feeling of space because of the golf course. Large free car park. Rooms are fairly large and comfortable. Good WiFi and Freeview channels on the TV. Kettle, tea and coffee. Easy to do walks from the hotel. There is a traditional Indian restaurant near to the entrance driveway of the hotel which is easy to walk to.

Property was beautiful quiet and the one meal of fish on a crusty potato with fresh veggies was outstanding.Unfortunetly our first room had no working shower so we moved to a nicer room but after we came back from a day out the carpet was soaked and the ceiling was leaking so we had to move again so 2nights there and 3 different rooms was exhausting but I guess we got unlucky and remember to check your final bill as we only had 2 breakfast and they charged us for 4 but upon my email they gave us the credit. Anyway everything was beautiful except the moving of rooms.

Noisy, dishonest, poor breakfast, great pool/gym
Our room was a four poster room, bed was lovely but beware, four poster bed rooms overlook the carpark and are also above a banqueting suite. Upon check in, we asked reception if there were any functions that night and if it were going to be noisy as if so, could they move us to another part of the hotel now to avoid any potential issues as this was our first break away from our young daughter. They said it would be fine as there were no other functions planned. We went for a swim at the really nice leisure facilities and on our way back saw things being set up for the evening. We asked a different receptionist who said she was surprised we had not been told this upon booking but that there was a sixthform leavers do that night but not to worry, it was in another part of the hotel. It wasn't and the noise from the exit and carpark kept us awake most of the night. We had no sleep as Reception on two occasions chose to lie to us. Gym was great, breakfast poor.
