"Beautifully updated home inside and out! Well stocked and very clean! The gas fireplace was definitely a plus! Location was perfect for a walk into town, or to get in the car and hop on the highway to go exploring. Owners were super accommodating and easy to work with as well."

"The RiverBarn is simply gorgeous! Not only is it architecturally unique but its beautifully decorated! The linens and towels are luxurious; beds are very comfortable. Great location to explore Connecticut -- or take a short walk into the charming village of Essex. Renee's thoughtful touches are why she's a superhost! I especially appreciated the high-quality products in the house -- both from local purveyors and other sources. I want to come back and experience this cozy place in the winter...

"We stay at this hotel frequently. It is always clean, breakfast is nice with my favorite waffle machine and the staff is polite. It's a short distance to Mohegan and the sub base."

"Went done for a revival and needed a place to stay on a budget. This is that place. I didn’t expect to be as clean and nice as it was, which was a beautiful surprise. "

"This is a no-frills hotel. However we had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in our room. VERY spacious. Staff were friendly and at the front desk when we needed them to be there. A lady came to our door once to see if we needed fresh towels (we were there for 6 days). We will stay here on a return visit. Thanks Pier Blue staff"
