I was looking for an inexpensive room for a quick getaway. This fit our needs. The rooms are updated with a flat panel television and laminate floors, which I prefer as you can truly see how clean or dirty they may be as opposed to carpet. All bedding and towels were clean. It is a budget room that appears to be taken care of. I will say that the cable feed to the television was terrible. Quite a bit of static on some channels. The hotel met our needs for this particular overnight and I would recommend it to someone looking for a budget room. If you prefer a more upscale type facility, this may not fulfill your expectations. Then again, why would you even be reading this or looking at this property if you desire the 4 star plus facilities.

Right off the freeway and WALKING distance to: Target, Panera, Chipotle, In N Out, Del Taco, Coco's, and 7/11. 5 Guys Burgers, Olive Garden, Pieology, and Bevmo are literally a 3-5 minute drive away, too. Can't get any better with all those choices so close by. The staff were really friendly as well. The Safari Zoo is 15 minutes away and so is Potato Chip Rock hike.
My first time in Escondido and I wasn't sure where I would be. Turns out there were some fast food and small restaurants 5 miles away but nothing within walking distance. I wish there were a restaurant on site or next to the hotel. For the hotel itself everyone was really nice, great continental breakfast but did not have a room to workout. Overall if you need to stay nearby i would recommend this hotel.

The room rate was so good I couldn't pass it up. When I got there, the clerk was prepared, friendly and professional-excellent service. Don't be fooled by the outdated look of the outside, the rooms were nicer than I thought they would be and look to have been remodeled recently. The fridge was bigger than you would find in most places and so was the TV. I'd stay here again, no question.

Escondido's agricultural roots thrive in the city's wineries. East of town, important research takes place amid the safari setting at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. There, researchers work to save endangered animals, such as giant pandas, cheetahs, and rhinos. Casinos line the road that leads to the Palomar Observatory. Open to the public, its centerpiece is the 200-inch Hale telescope.
