Great area for hiking, hunting and exploring towns close by. The Hideaway is a short drive to Garden of the Gods, 14 miles; Glen O Jones Lake, 10 mile; and the Shawnee National Forest is also close by. The home was beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel extra welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked with staples—including coffee and bottled water—which we really appreciated. Everything was spotless, and there were plenty of clean towels available. The owner was very responsive and friendly, both before our arrival and during our stay. The location was perfect for exploring Garden of the Gods and Rim Rock Trail, which were our main destinations. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area! ##### kellie h. The house is older but has all the comforts of home, with lots of thoughtful touches throughout. Anytime we needed something, it was there — from toiletries and cooking spices to little candies left for the kids when we checked in.We loved the remote, rural setting — it was peaceful and a great place to unwind after long days of hiking, biking, and exploring the forest. The only small downside was some traffic noise from trucks passing by in the mornings, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.It was so nice having a comfortable place to come back to each night, make a homemade meal, clean up, and relax before another day of adventure. We didn’t get a chance to use the outdoor fire pit (we talked about it every night but were too tired from exploring!), so that’s something to look forward to next time.We’d definitely love to come back — there’s so much more to do and see in the area! ##### Laura H.
