Stonegable has a new generator (2023) for storms. Runs everything but stove and microwave ( grill on site) . So you will have water, lights, hot water heater for showers, refrigerator. and heat in the event of a storm that results in a loss of power. Very few rental properties in Empire or northern Michigan have a generator back up plan which can save a vacation.

The home sports a gallery of original oil paintings of the property by a local artist which are all available for purchase. It’s a perfect property for a couples retreat , artists, writers, photographers,conservationists, bird watchers, nature lovers,and astronomers.

Unplug at Stone Gable with the quiet of crickets and the brilliance of stars. Leave the technology behind and enter into the past of simpler times before television and internet (Great Wifi available for those that need to work). You will experience a lovely farm house appointed with beautiful fresh duvets and a well stocked kitchen. The trees provide lots of cool shade and privacy. There is a fire pit for bonfires, a grill, and a deck off the kitchen for relaxing outside. The out buildings are the perfect setting for Plein Air painters and those that love the serenity of a real working farm.

Lake Michigan is also just just two miles away. A basketball court, beach volley ball, playground, and Empire public beach are available for guests enjoyment. Area is perfect for hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, kayaking or just lying on the beach. There are boat launches nearby for both Lake Michigan and South Bar Lake. Only 8 miles to Glen Arbor and 25 minutes to Traverse City.
