My family (6 adults, 3 kids) traveled to Tennessee for a graduation in Johnson City. We were anout 30min from the ETSU campus. There wasnt much around, you had to drive about 10min to a gas station. But we definitely enjoyed watching the sunrise on the wrap-around porch! The place was very clean. There was ample space for everyone! The host was helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. It is located on the outskirts of Elizabethton, in a little area called “dog town”. It is easy to get to, paved roads, pretty views. The cabin is kind of close to the road. Be careful because lots of people fly down the back roads in this area. But beautiful yard and views. Plenty of room in the house for a large group. We were even visited by a mama deer and her two fawns in the huge backyard one night! The area is quiet and peaceful with amazing windows and a great view. Check in and check out were seamless and Brian was very communicative and helpful with great suggestions. Cows are right across the street in a farm setting. Not very private, but there’s not a lot of traffic in this area. The river for great fishing is right down the street and Watauga lake is just a few miles away. River access is close but not the safest by foot. We found that driving and parking at one of the boat ramps was better and safer. 2 min drive. No icemaker which is fine but ice trays would have been an easy remedy. The grill is nice, we used it for burgers. There was not a grill cleaning brush or grill utensils; again easy remedy. We had an easy check in process and the owner was pleasant. The only issue we had was a water leak in one of the bedrooms with a queen bed. We couldn’t sleep in the bed one of the nights we were there, and we were unable to use the upstairs shower/tub one day as well. I notified the owner and he wasn’t able to get someone to fix it until after our check out day/time, but he was very nice about it. Overall, I would recommend this property, no bed for one night and not having the extra shower was a little inconvenient for our last day there ##### Kayla L. It has a lot of windows and we enjoyed watching the cows across the street, and we also saw baby lambs. The long mountain views are awesome - we saw them covered in snow!The inside of the cabin is nice and new; although minimally decorated. The beds were very comfortable; everyone enjoyed them.One interesting aspect of the cabin was the flies. It was strange seeing so many of them in the winter with temps in the teens. I suppose they're hibernating nearby. But in any case, there were many flies inside the cabin. Thankfully, they had plug in devices that attracted and killed them. But we swept up flies almost daily. Can't hardly imagine what it would be like in the summer. Maybe it's from the cows across the street, IDK.Anyway, a few ideas to make the stay even better for guests, and get to a "Premier Host" level:A few throw blankets in the living room. It gets chilly with all those windows. A few spare pillows in the bedrooms.Glass drinkware. At LEAST one set! It's no fun drinking out of plastic cups for Christmas dinner. A set of four or six GLASS wine glasses.More hand towels and kitchen towels. One dish towel for a week stay with cooking and cleaning in the kitchen is just not sufficient. One hand towel for each bathroom was also insufficient.I think this cabin is mostly meant for fishermen on the Watauga, but it could be much more with a few changes. It was a great place to disconnect and relax. The views of the mountains were amazing, and it's so quiet around. The cabin itself was insanely clean.
