The breakfast served in the morning had a decent variety of breads, pastries, cold cuts, deli cheese. the eggs and bacon were cooked to order. Some flaws: the rooms only have heaters not fans and we always run hot despite the cold climate so we slept with window open. It's a boutique hotel with five-star service. Rosa and Matías and the other staff are phenomenal. They made us feel like family. The breakfast buffet is a huge and delicious spread. There are cafes and restaurants close by, but the street is quiet. It's a few minutes walk from the beautiful Nimez nature reserve. Truly, we did not want to leave this gem of a hotel. Calafate is a wonderful base to explore this area of Patagonia. Staff were also very helpful in arranging a taxi to the airport. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and every day was many fresh fruits, made to order eggs and meat and a delicious variety of fresh pastries. There is a very cozy common sitting area with and even a yoga room. Rooms were clean, but basic. There were no amenities at the hotel. Basic breakfast was served. The best part of this hotel is an outstanding local guide — Mariano. We were beyond thrilled with Mariano and his expert knowledge of the area. An exceptional guide! Great personality and highly knowledgeable of the most important area attractions. Very experienced and goes out of his way to make every outdoor excursion the very best. Location was perfect and right off the main street of Avenida Del Libertador. The hotel has a family feeling to it and the breakfast in the mornings was great. If it's an option, I suggest paying the extra money for it. I will definitely be visiting this property again.
