GOOD WHILE I WAS THERE. THE LIGHT STARTED TO FLICKER THEN THE TV TURNED OFF ALONG WITH THE LIGHTS THEN THE FIRE ALARM WENT OFF. I WENT OUTSIDE AND SAW ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS AND HE SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK.

Many hotels in the area had complaints of bed bugs so the first thing I did was tear the bedding apart and inspect the shower. both checked out so I brought my stuff in; beware there is no elevator so dragging a heavy suitcase up stairs in the heat was not fun. Like every place in California parking was limited but the checkin-checkout was fast and easy and the room was clean.

You get what you pay for. This is a decent hotel for the price, which was the least we have paid for a night in San Diego in quite a while. The amenities are very basic but our room was clean. Can't really ask for more, didn't ask for more, didn't expect more, so wasn't disappointed!
BE AWARE that the SD Police now requires EVERYBODY who is staying in the room to show valid ID, if you're the booker or not. This is City policy and not hotel policy, but good to know in advance.
This was a nice hotel with easy freeway access. Stayed two nights and felt safe/secure the whole time. Hotel was quiet and room was clean. Nice layout to the room. The breakfast was better than most in this price range, with fresh waffles as an option. Overall, I would stay there again. The only real negative comments I have are that the pool is really awkward where it is located and the carpets in the room need to be cleaned.
Location was bout 20 to 30 mins from nearest beach. Don't be concerned with outside appearance of hotel. Rooms are nice and comfy with all the amenities included. I would stay again but not during July 4th weekend.
