This hotel was awesome. One thing to note, there is an old, historic side (red roof) and a modern addition (left side). We stayed in both - more on that in a moment.
First off, the staff, all of them, are amazing. We were there two nights, morning staff, evening staff, wait staff, every single person was wonderful, We even said something to the hotel manager about how professional everyone was, particularly the front desk. The front deskman who dealt with a s*** storm the day before when the power went out, like a master, was there when we complimented him, he blushed. Room was excellent in the modern side, food was the best we had the entire week we were in Iceland. And that staff....! We actually ended up here for 2 nights only planned on one. We came in at 1230 midnight outrunning the island wide windstorm fleeing the property we had planned on staying in down in the south east, and they found a room for us in the old side, twin bed, but all they had and were were desperate and grateful. Good quiet location, great views. Good parking. Is there an 11 star button I can press??
