RENTER MUST BRING THESE ITEMS AS WELL AS TOILETRIES. 4BR / 2BA - K, Q, K, 2S - Sleeps 8 - Short walk of \~ 100 yards across the street to the beach! This is the beach house you grew up going to. A classic Edisto Beach cottage with pine paneled walls, floors and ceilings. As you enter the ocean view screened in porch you are greeted with lots of seating--perfect for casual conversation or a game night. Adjacent to the screened in porch is a door to a side sundeck, also with ocean views. From the porch you enter the living area of the home. There is a great room, dining area and a large kitchen, with a breakfast bar and stools. To the right side of the great room is a bedroom with a king size bed with a memory foam mattress. There is a bath with a stall shower in the hall on this side of the home and another bedroom with a queen bed with a memory foam mattress. On the left side of the property is a 3rd bedroom with twin beds and ocean views, perfect for the kids. Next to the dining area is the 4th bedroom with a king size bed and a door to a connecting bath. This bath also opens into the central portion of the home. The laundry room is next to the kitchen. A nice beach cottage in a great spot on Edisto Beach! Additional amenities include a sundeck off rear of the house. Under the house is a concrete pad for grilling or just hanging out as well as a large enclosed outside shower. Internet services is available. Small pets are allowed. No smoking, No bed & bath linens. They left a night early. Apparently they do not clean this house. Mold, coffee grounds in the coffee pot from previous tenants. I was charged a cleaning fee when it seems there is not a crew that upkeeps it. Very disappointed in VRBO letting this house stay on rental status. It’s a hazard. My parents have photos of all of it. Even the vents for AC are molded, including the filter in the return that hasn’t been changed in who knows how long. I never leave reviews but I am baffled I wasted my money. We ended our stay a day early, because of the rain, not the house. There is 2 things that are worth mentioning, the beds/mattresses could really use an upgrade. They are really hard which made it a little difficult to sleep. We had to locate the sheets to put on the beds. We were only left 4 towels for 8 people for the week. We had to go buy towels. So you may want to bring your own. Which is fine, I just didn’t know. The parking is a bit limited but we made do. Overall, it was a very nice stay and we would stay again. One of the two bathrooms in the house was out of commission the entire week. 8 people with one bathroom for 7 nights? Not ideal. We were told on several occasions that the maintenance guy would be there "the next day" to repair the leak. Never happened. Underneath the bathroom that was usable, there lived a family of some type of animal that scratched constantly on the bottom of the bathtub. Gaps in the subfloor under the house were large enough for a small child to crawl through. Just glad whatever it was never breached the walls. On our next to last day, the AC went out early morning. 85 degrees inside all day. Maintenance guy shows up around dusk to check it out. He finds a 6 foot snakeskin in the HVAC drain pan. WTH? I don't nitpick about small issues, and I've never written a review for a rental before, but this place was a disaster. ##### Trina S. The property manager respond right away but the issue didn’t get resolved for three days. When the repairman came he said he knew the toilet was broken before we checked in. He said he was installing two toilets, but only did one. We had a screen door on the front porch but when the repairman left so did the screen door. In his defense, the screen was hanging out the frame. I know this is a pet friendly house. We didn’t have a pet but there was FLEAS! We didn’t see any live roaches but did find some dead ones. We had a storm one night and discovered 2 broken windows in the bedroom which probably played a huge roll in why the bedroom never got cool. There was water leaking out the roof. We had to move furniture around to have some place dry to sit. We had to keep towels on the floor to keep the floor dry to keep from sliding down in the puddles of water. There was mold on the ac vents. Let’s not forget to mention the bed being held up by books/board. The steps going into the front door need some attention, the tops of the steps are loose and could create a tripping/falling hazard! Haha!! I spent much of my childhood on Edisto, and this house was great. The only thing worth mentioning is that if you are coming to stay for a long time, it might be worth bringing storage containers to keep your food. That’s always good anyway bc …. Summer - SC Bugs- but the house doesn’t have any empty cabinets- pantry for your personal food storage- that ends up all over the counters. This is also kind of typical of some beach places, but it felt worth mentioning. Some of the screens are missing on windows or may need repair (not owners fault bc they don’t know what they don’t know/ and any guest who isn’t used to screen doors might push the screen which can be hard to keep up with. But - the house was perfect for my family, and we will 100% rent again when it’s available. It was nostalgic- close and easy walk to the old pavilion- close to the public beach path- you can hear the waves from the house. Thanks for the memories. Please let us come back.
