I had to start from my hotel at 3 AM to make it to this location before dawn. Botany Bay Plantation is a nature preserve and has regulated visitor hours. Gates open 30 minutes before sunrise - I wish they'd open a little sooner as the golden hour is pretty much more than half way done by the time one can make it to the beach. Nevertheless, it's a great location to visit at sunrise, especially if there are high clouds to add drama. Recommended to visit when the tide is ebbing as you then get the shadows of the trees, which to my eyes add more depth to the image. On this day, there was a bank of low clouds that prevented too much color but it was a great sunrise to witness nonetheless. The trees have so much character and add so much to the image. Only a few minutes from the beaches or other activities. Quiet and off the beaten path location. The house was very clean and a great size for a family or a group of friends.Our host were amazing and super nice.One thing to know is the fire pit and dock are shared location with the host. It was no big deal. The tidal creek off the back of the property was amazing. We saw so much wildlife! It was minutes away from the Edisto fun but so quiet and peaceful, really a great balance. It also stated that it had a playground for small children we came down ourselves to look at everything before we would rent it for the whole family. There’s also a big house right next-door that you have to walk through their yard to get down to the dock in the fire pit is in their yard. And at low tide, there is no water at all so if you bring a boat, you have to trailer it back-and-forth to the ramp the mobile home was a nice mobile home. The master suite did not have a queen size bed. And to watch TV all you can do was watch Netflix so you sell no local channels at all. ##### Marianne S. All we heard from daylight until literally dark was sawing, hammering, equipment alarms, gas compressors running the works..
