"Amazing facility. Incredible experience. "
Staying in a nearly 300 year old castle is one of the highlights of my life. Room was large and comfortable. Location is great. Food was excellent.

"Nervous going in, loved it going out."
The day before checkin I got an email saying the hotel has been sold, there is no gym, spa or a lot of the bonuses which helped me choose them over the Glass House. I can't tell you how happy I was that I stayed with the Scotsman instead. The staff is the best you will find anywhere. They are on top of everything, managed to remain professional and since keys were not working, get everyone to their rooms with private escorts with no waits. The scones in the restaurant are ridiculously good and they can help with almost anything and everything. It started with Nick who welcomed me in the lobby to the wonderful bellmen who saw I was calling an uber and asked if they could try finding me a better rate. The rooms are outdated, but that is because it's a historic hotel. You go for the ambiance, setting and aside from old furniture (which I preferred for this specific hotel), it is 100% worth staying at. I will be back and will always recommend it. I actually just did to a couple of friends who are going to Edinburgh.

"Convenient Apartments close to many attractions"
We stayed for 3 nights (weekend) in Nov 2016 and found it a great place to stay. The staff were great and helpful. The location was very convenient for tourists to access nearby attractions. The apartment we had was very spacious and had a lot of features, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We were provided a welcome pack on arrival with a number of breakfast type items including bread, cereal, etc. We only needed to get a couple of items from the nearby store to have enough for our breakfasts for our stay (3 mornings). It is possible to hear street noise from the apartments, but at least for us, it was not at such a level to disturb us. Note that we were on a high level floor, so that might have helped. We were driving, so the secure car park was a great benefit. The streets in this part of Edinburgh are a bit of a rabbit warren, so it can be a tricky to get into the parking at first as it's on a one way side street to the main hotel entrance door which itself is on another one way street (so you may have to loop around to get to the parking). I recommend parking the car at the apartments and either walking or using public transport within the city. If we have the chance to go back to Edinburgh, we are highly likely to use these apartments again for our stay.

"A hotel that concentrates on happy customers"
We have to mention Daniel..on reception when we first arrived and so friendly, helpful, and an absolute asset to the hotel. Restaurant staff helpful and smiling even near the end of service. Used the spa and pool and just cannot fault any of the staff..I just hope they are well paid. Room lovely, en suite more than adequate .only moan was , no tissues ( it's a female thing!) Only 2 pillows on bed, enough for me but not hubby. All in all one of the best! Would definitely use again.

"Princess for a day.!"
Myself and my sister stayed at the Dalhousie Castle hotel while in Edinburgh for a family funeral. We were very happy with our visit, the castle amazing. The room was quite large and well equipt. Coffee making facilities were supplied plus lovely shortbread biscuits. The castle was exactly as you would imagine a castle to be, big library with lots of sofas , plus lots of thrones around the halls. Food was delicious, lots of choice for breakfast, all served by friendly staff.
