This beautiful house is tucked away in a peaceful cove just minutes away from Wallace dam. The dock has a boat lift and a fishing light kept on year-round. The property has a long gravel driveway that leads to a nice yard covered with flower gardens and HUGE ROCKS!! The finished basement has a freshly felted 8 foot pool table. Plenty of parking and room for boat and jet ski trailers. Rocking chair front porch with an amazing view of the lake. The fishing is good year around, and water is great for swimming during the warmer months. Guests are invited to rent pontoons, ski boats, jet skis, kayaks, canoes and fishing boats from nearby Fish Tales Marina. Winding River is located on the south end of Lake Oconee. This beautiful house is tucked away in a peaceful cove just minutes away from Wallace dam. Nearby eateries include the fantastic Copperwood Pizza, Georgia Butts BBQ, Cafe 44, Mellow Mushroom Pizza; Filet Steak and Seafood, and lots of great new eateries popping up in Greensboro and Eatonton. Lake Oconee is a 1500 acre vacation development with 80 miles of shoreline on beautiful Lake Oconee. Lake Oconee provides Georgia's most ideal environment for the outdoor enthusiast. Perfect for all types of water-sports, from boating and sailing to swimming and skiing, the waters of Lake Oconee are best known for excellent fishing. Located in the family-friendly neighborhood of Winding River, just around the bay from the famous Lake Oconee "Jumping Rock". This is the perfect nature lover's getaway to kick back, enjoy some family time or a relaxing week away from it all. On the main level there is 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, plus fully stocked kitchen and living room. Upstairs you will find 2 generously sized bedrooms, plus a hall bathroom. Both bedrooms have an extra twin mattress for those traveling with little ones. The basement has another bedroom, pull out queen couch, bathroom, pool table and plenty of space to entertain. Outside of the home, you will be on a private cove with access to the main water, brand new private dock with lift and water depth is 10 feet deep, kayaks to experience the calm water and a fire pit to roast marshmallows and tell ghost stories. Enjoy relaxing, reading a book or a glass of wine at the many outdoor spaces. You can even boat to some of the different dining options on the lake or take a short drive to one of the fabulous restaurants around Lake Oconee. Grocery stores are around 15 minute drive if you would rather just grill/cook and hang out on the large deck. The VRBO depiction on the website was spot on. What was advertised was what we were delivered. The host was so attentive and helpful. The property was sprawling, deer wandering through the yard, birds singing overhead. A perfect spacious property but cozy at the same time. Super clean as well. Wonderful private dock, took out a kayak and enjoyed the quiet of the lake. We will be stay with Gray family many times in the future. We had more than enough space and the facilities offered everything we needed to enjoy our vacation and for cooking meals. The location was ideal as it was a short drive to convenient stores and tucked back far from neighbors. The dock was wonderful and allowed for most of our trip to be spent in the water. Loved the clean lake, the rocks were unique and made group workouts challenging. Toenail clippings on carpet that had not been vacuumed, lotion on bathroom vanity, and cigarette ashes on porch. Oven had so much grease that a small fire ignited when we tried to use it. The house was spacious, clean & well stocked. The dock was awesome and accommodated our boat, water trampoline and numerous floats & other water toys....the lake was deep enough to play or just relax.... the teenagers said we needed a house like this, lol.... lost power the last night during a horrible storm but still would do it all over again.... thanks to our wonderful host and hope you will have us again..... ##### Priscilla E. Owners and managers would not en knowledge the mis Five people were to stay in the house but it only had four bedrooms instead of the listed five. I do think there should be some sort of lighting on the steps down to the lake as I took a spill on the first night because I couldn't see the steps. The house is nice and the pool table was fun too.
