Simply outstanding hotel near Addo Elephant Park. Special mention for Edwin on front of house who accomodated our dietary needs perfectly. The food was simply spectacular at both breakfast and dinner and the setting overlooking a pond with weaver birds is very special. The photos dont do justice to the welcome you receive as the futnishings are a little old school, but the room size and facilities are very good. Trips to Addo on their landcruiser were easy and trouble free.
A very relaxing stay to kick off our South Africa experience Woodhall is a beautiful niche property - very much in the middle of nowhere, although very close to the Addo Elephant Park. Great value for money as well. Fantastic five course tasting dinner, accompanied by Freddie's piano skills and a frog chorus from the dam. Outstanding and personal service from a friendly team. Lovely touches, our car was cleaned prior to departure, and we loved the double outside shower (there were showers inside the cottage too for those not brave enough to bathe al fresco!)
An absolutely wonderful stay at Woodall. Everything was 5* in particular the service from all of the staff. There were lots of personal touches throughout the stay and the attention to detail was amazing. The food was incredible and dinner was great value considering the quality of food. We also used the spa which was lovely. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone coming to the Addo area.
Very nice spacious room and bathroom. The staff could not have been nicer. Location is very convenient for ADDO national park.
Overall a very pleasant experience
We had a very relaxing stay at Woodall Country House & Spa. The dinner was superb and the birdlife amazing (red bishops and humming-birds). The SPA treatment was also very professional. The old style of the rooms has its charme and the service was great! Manager and Staff are very friendly. What we did not like were the bathroom taps which were arranged way too low. This could be easily improved though. Recommended!
A wonderful setting for exploring Addo Elephant Park and surrounding areas. The restaurant was great, we had our own little outdoor pool, and it is only 45 minutes from Port Elizabeth. The half day guided visit of the park gets five stars.
We loved this lodge! The staff were so friendly & efficient & nothing was too much trouble. Our room, lounge area & bathroom were so spacious with first class furniture, appliances, fittings, linen & towels - everything to make your stay an enjoyable one.
We had 2 memorable evening meals - a 5 course set menu with choices. The presentation was excellent & the food delicious. The breakfast was a superb display of fresh items as well as a menu with special dishes of the day. Not to mention champagne!
We can also highly recommend the spa.
All in all a wonderful stay - we left feeling pampered & spoilt - thank you.
Great overall- huge room with very comfortable bed. Food was beyond 5 star, only complaint was that there was too much. Guide for addo park was very knowledgeable, we saw lots of game including literally hundreds of elephants.
very friendly welcome by Edwin. Extremely comfortable, our room was huge, sitting area, bedroom, enormous bathroom, and outside hot and cold showers. Lots of complementary drinks. Everything about the Woodall Country House and Spa oozes quality and sumptuousness. The food was superb, and well presented
Easy to get to the Addo Elephant Park
Everything from the early email exchanges arranging tours of Addo, to the welcome, the tour, the food, the room and the service was absolutely perfect. Having stayed in 100's of hotels in dozens of countries this would definitely be one of the best. The attention to detail and personal experience could not be faulted. As an example - we were booked for an official night drive via the Addo park but as we were running late there would of been no time to eat so without asking Edwin had arranged us a table out of hours for on completion of the tour. Additionally they rearranged spa staff hours to accommodate one of our party. In the evening that we did dine at the hotel - a personalised vegetarian menu was specially prepared for our touring herbivore!
I'd highly recommend doing a tour of Addo via Woodall as their guides and vehicle are fantastic. Sitting high up in the land cruiser allows you to see a lot easier above the bush of the reserve.
Tip: make sure you take some good binoculars with you as the park is massive
We did not expect our room to actually be a suite and so luxurious. After three solid days of safari, this was a wonderful place to relax. Woodall is only 9 minutes away from the entrance to Addo Elephant National Park. Perfect.
OMG 2 nights at Woodhall what a treat.beutiful hotel wonderful staff amazing food (a bit expensive) but a must if your in the addo area.
Top class would reccomEnd to anyone .
Absolut empfehlenswert.
This hotel is better in real life than in pictures
Wow! This hotel looks better in real life than in pictures. We had a gorgeous and spacious rooms with private showers also outside. They have absolutely beautiful garden with a lot of flowers. The service was excellent if you do not take in account the waiting time for breakfast or lunch food. We enjoyed the set dinner in their beautiful restaurant. In some reviews the restaurant had been compared with Michelin star restaurants. I would not raise expectations that high to avoid disappointment, but the food was good. Woodall organized safaris for us and they were good value as well. I would recommend one game drive in Addo with Woodall driver and another one in close by some of the private parks. They are quite different and complement each other. We went to Schotia for another safari. We saw a lot of animals, but felt that it was a bit too touristic and crowded and would have enjoyed a more private experience.
We enjoyed our stay in Woodall and highly recommend it. By staying there you can enjoy a luxury hotel and game drives with reasonable cost.
Note: Spa facials I cannot recommend if you have a sensitive skin. It took a few days to cover from the treatment with my skin peeling off...

The most variety breakfast we've ever seen in SA, particular the choice of home made jam. A great, peaceful place to relax and to enjoy the great food and wine selection. Woodall is a pure relaxing island, nothing you can do by foot in the surrounding for other activities you have to take the car. Nothing to complain, great people great service, we definitely recommend this place

Servicepersonal sehr aufmerksam.
