It would be nicer having a sauna or some kind of hamam at his property. The playground are with a ping pong table and some darts is quite poor. Overall lovely charming hotel. But the staff made the difference, Saniye, Nesrin and Zeynep were very comforting and made my stay very enjoyable. But Nursen who is leading the restaurant/catering team made the difference. The Food was absolutely amazing and delicious. The whole place is beautifully furnished and presented so it's such an enjoyable place to stay. The hotel is an easy walk along the river into the busy part of town with pkenty of food options and shopping. Outside is a beautiful seating area on the river bank with tea, coffee, drinks, even some wines. The only negative is out of the control of the hotel, but there was a strong waste smell from the river. There are obviously some major civic works underway to fix the leaks and treat the water." Melisa, Reha, Yusuf, Verat, Fatih all my made 5 night stay fun and personable. I did not want to rent a car so they helped me navigate the bus and dulmus to Akdamar Island and into the City Center. I also took an afternoon in the town of Edremet and enjoyed the harbour and shops. The people were amazing and fun - taught me about the local area and a little about Kurdish culture. The room was spacious, the water hot, the view nice of the Lake. The one thing that can be improved was the mattress was a little older and soft. I didn't make a request to change rooms though as I still got good sleep. There was noise from the traffic but the view of the lake made up for that. AC was comfortable but not too cold.
