Great hotel and casino! Staff were top notch. Casino is choppy but still enjoyed. This location is also surrounded by two additional casinos (Horseshoe & Hard Rock) one can visit during a stay. Would definitely come back and recommend.

The rooms have a bad musty smell. The shower door tracks are filthy. Nobody told me when I checked in that I would have to request housecleaning services the day before. So after being gone all day, I came back to a room with no fresh towels, full trash cans, and no cleaning. Spoke with a manager by the name of Wade. He was very rude and forgot I’m the customer. Other front desk staff was nice.

There is this guy, legend in my mind, of which every time I passed by him asked if he could help with something, anything. Probably passed by him like six times that morning until we actually needed some real help. James Bond, 20 year devote to his profession with this company, was absolutely dedicated to assisting with finding a treasured item that was misplaced. The calls were placed by James, my friend was escorted back to our room by Mr. Bond and his efforts were sooo much appreciated!!! Thankfully we were able to retrieve the elusive item, it was in another location but the depth of assistance that James provided was absolutely above and beyond. James Bond is the Brand Ambassador of which every company would DREAM of having!! Thank you!!

Changed room deposit to 50$. And credit card only is allowed 😢. Nobody to me and I don't use credit cards so wow. Also lady staff has smart mouths and comments!! Over all not to happy with the Ameristar Security all Thur room area look someone stole something js was uncomfortable 😣. Water 💦 not hot. Sad . Price is higher as well ...

The staff was exceptionally friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable and affordable. It just needs a little touch up in some areas like carpet cleaning, touch up paint and easier television access. I loved the access to the restaurants and casino which was convenient and safe.

The Ameristar Casino Hotel in East Chicago markets itself as "a full-service luxury hotel," but it is not. We spent a night at the Ameristar to attend a show nearby and found the staff friendly but maintenance lacking. First, the keycard readers in the elevators do not work correctly. The elevator doors closed and took us to the top floor because someone called it but did not stop at our floor. We eventually got it to work, but the hotel should consider upgrading or repairing its readers. Secondly, the drain in our bathroom sink was extremely slow, and the bathtub faucet dripped. Worse of all, the walls are paper thin. The couple in the adjoining room turned on the mood music at 3 AM to mask the sounds of romance, but the female's moaning and voice were as clear as the lyrics to their music. I know there's nothing the hotel can do to control people's actions. Still, another layer of drywall or insulation between the rooms would be a welcome addition to a "luxury" hotel. On the positive side, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, and I liked the pillows.
