The cabin is nestled on top of a small hill surrounded by trees with an opening looking out to the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful, Virginia countryside setting; relax by the fire, enjoy coffee on the porch, or fish/boat on the property's private pond. You could also spend a day at nearby Moss Vineyards and Glasshouse Winery (both within a 20 minute drive) or head into downtown Charlottesville, just 12 miles away, for some dining and nightlife. This wonderfully restored log cabin was constructed with historic, white pine logs sourced from West Virginia and old heart pine- used extensively in the restoration. The cabin sleeps 4 with a queen bed upstairs and a pull out couch in the main living room. The main level has an open floor plan providing a full kitchen, breakfast table for 4 and a living room centered around a stone fireplace. A flat-screen TV set-up with Apple TV is available to enjoy your favorite shows and movies. The upstairs bedroom offers another wood-burning fireplace and full bath. Off of the main level, on the backside of the cabin, is a porch that looks out to the Blue Ridge. Guests of the property also have access to walk the grounds and usage of the private pond nearby. We welcome you to bring your dog to this property for an additional $45 pet fee. The hosts have done an excellent job of preserving the charm of the cabin, while updating it to be very comfortable. The setting is absolutely beautiful with views of the mountains, trees all around, wildlife in abundance, all while providing a very private quiet stay. It was so quiet and peaceful at the cabin, it was hard to believe we were minutes from Charlottesville. The cabin was comfortable and full of rustic charm. We liked to sit on the back porch enjoying the stunning view of the Blue Ridge and the occasional pileated woodpecker or hawk. It turned cool one night so we took advantage of the firepit, star gazed, and were surprised to hear an exchange between two Eastern Screech-owls. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the property and going for walks in the nearby woods. A wonderful place to stay and we hope to return again someday. ##### David H. The owner is an incredible host and the space is so cozy.
