This was our second stay at AM. We loved it so much last year, we returned again this year. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the staff is attentive and very friendly. While doing laundry half way through our stay, we walked around the hotel and selected our room for our 2017 trip to Aruba. Highly recommend the hotel and its proximity to Eagle Beach is just a bonus!
We chose Bubali Bliss for our "romantic getaway" and it was perfect. Having done the all inclusive bit before, we were looking for something way quieter, more romantic, and with a local, island feel. Bubali Bliss Studios fit the bill perfectly. Located right next to a Superfood, we were able to buy snacks and drinks to enjoy in our room-a nice touch for lazy mornings over coffee, something we never get to enjoy at home! Additionally, the location was also ideal for all activities: a 5 minute walk to Eagle Beach and a 5 minute drive to all the high rise hotels (where shopping, bars and restaurants are) allowed for close proximity to dining out and beach time. Additionally, Bubali Bliss is a short drive from the airport and downtown Oranjestad. Finally, some of the best restaurants we came across (Quinta del Carmen and Madam Janette's) are located very nearby. If you don't care about the thrills of all-inclusive and are more interested in an accommodating, clean and intimate getaway experience-Bubali Bliss Studios is for you.
Room was very nice and clean and smoke free. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. Oscar picked us up at airport, checked us in and returned us to airport and was available for anything we needed. Unit had a washer and dryer. Nice kitchen. Very quiet area. Room overlooks the golf course. Nice balcony. Short walk to beach or you can catch a shuttle. Shorter walk to infinity pool. Love this place. Oscar was great! My son says 5 stars isn't high enough it should be 10 stars.
We were a group of 9 - 4 adults & 5 kids and we were in the 3-bedroom suite which had every amenity. The views were spectacular. Limited interactions with the staff but those were positive although it did take a bit of time for us to check in & out due to there being only 1 person in the office. Not a huge deal.....
This is not a hotel. It is a 3-building condo complex that rents out available rooms & condos. If you are looking for a place with hustle & bustle, this is not for you. The place was virtually deserted and we had all 3 pools to ourselves most days (fine for us as we were our own "party" with that many kids!). I never saw a single person in the bar area except for dinner time when they do the 8 course meal. If you are looking for someplace very quiet, safe, secure, with beautiful views, this will be for you.
It is very centrally located though so as long as you have a rental car (a must if you stay here in my opinion), you will be able to easily go downtown to shop or dine and to the popular Palm Beach nightlife activities (and daytime beach activities).
Our only complaints - we had some issues with the room - very tiny ants that we needed to have sprayed but still persisted the 4 days we were there, a broken door handle that was quickly repaired, and the fact that housekeeping comes 1x every 2 days. We had to ask for extra garbage bags for the kitchen and we had to make our own garbage dumping runs (a which sort of defeats the purpose of vacation!)
This was our second trip to Aruba in 18 months, so we had a pretty good idea of where we would like to stay. When we travel we prefer to stay in a self contained apartment with a kitchen, so that we can cook our own meals.
We wanted to be close to Eagle beach as well as close to a grocery store as we don't want to be locked in to renting a car. The Sasaki Apts is both.
We were easily able to travel around using public transit and taxis, though we did rent a car for the last couple of days to allow us to explore further afield.
The large pool was always welcoming on our return.
Four stars seems appropriate for this nice hotel. It is not super luxurious by any means. But the manager Deborah obviously takes her job seriously because the staff is very welcoming and mostly very competent. The only drawback is the housekeeping is rather poor. Dirty glasses were left for days and not replaced until we requested some. We participated in their Green Program which means clean towels only on Wednesday and Saturday rather than having them changed daily. That did not happen, and towels were not replaced until we asked for them. Cleaning of the sink and vanity were "eh." On to better attributes. The Elements restaurant where we had our daily breakfast was very nice - as was the breakfast. Truly a good way to start your day - even if you don't regularly eat breakfast. We had dinner there only one time, and I'd give it 3 stars overall. My fish dish was the only below-average entree from our group of four (the other three all ordered a different fish dish that was yummy), and it was replaced after I said it was not satisfactory. Service was better than good. The beach is wide and deep and not crowded. Staff comes around with cold wash cloths and small plates of fruit from time to time, and drinks will be delivered if you simply raise the provided flag. Nice touches. The grounds are in great shape and kept clean. The pool is rather small but great for cooling off, and free movies twice a week is a nice perk, too. All in all, an expensive but very nice place to stay.
Eagle Beach is defined by its powdery white sand and shaded picnic areas. A smaller concentration of hotels and resorts make Eagle Beach a more relaxed option than its northern neighbor, Palm Beach. Calm Caribbean waters facilitate pristine visibility for snorkelers and scuba divers opportunities. Some water sports are available here as well.
