Located just minutes from the southernmost point of Algonquin Park,  Sunset Haven is the perfect Haliburton family cottage! Located on Portage Lake just 10km from Haliburton, this cottage boasts 200 ft of shoreline and dock areas for water play suitable for all ages. The west facing waterfront allows you to enjoy sun all day and shoreline sunsets at the shore are just amazing!  Portage Lake is spring fed and is one of the cleanest Lakes in Ontario. Expect to see lots of wildlife, and experience great fishing as Portage Lake is a quiet and private lake where no speedboats are permitted only small or electric boats. Ideal for swimming, kayaking, sailing, fishing and all other water fun. There are stairs down from the cottage to the water. There is also a driveway from the side door that avoids the first two flights of stairs. The cottage is halfway down from the road to the water. At the water there are 2 docks and a shoreline to sit or lie down. There is another dock for boats. The water front has a gradual drop to 6 ft deep at around 30 ft out. Then gets deeper after that. Lake has excellent fishing. No weeds by the entrance to the water. West facing beautiful sunsets. Also a swim raft further out. Portage Lake is a very private lake and very quiet. This cottage has all the amenities of the city in a gorgeous natural setting. The road is maintained year round so we are also open for winter sports like snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.  There is a public boat launch on Drag Lake 2km away if you want to bring a larger boat. The cottage is 9 Km from Haliburton with amenities such as - taxi, daily bus service from Union Station, groceries, LCBO etc. The cottage itself is fully equipped with everything you will need for the perfect cottage country getaway. Five+ bedrooms can sleep 14 people and make this cottage the ideal space for multi-family vacationing. There are 2 full and one half baths. The gourmet kitchen is fully outfitted with all you need. The great room has 23 foot ceilings and gorgeous views of the lake and a separate family room on the lower level with walkout to the lawn and lake.  Dine indoors or out on one of the two decks. Cosy up by one of the two fireplaces in the cooler season. There is High Speed Internet, Satellite TV with theatre set up. A Swim raft. SW facing for beautiful sunsets! There is also a firepit near the water's edge - who's making the s'mores?!
