A perfect retreat nestled among the pines and just a short walk from the serene shoreline of Vallecito Lake. This charming cabin features a cozy fireplace to warm your evenings, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere no matter the season. Enjoy the convenience of air conditioning, keeping you cool during warm summer days. Step outside onto the covered deck, where you can relax with a good book or enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the peaceful surroundings. This cabin is designed for comfort and enjoyment, making it the ideal home base for your lakeside getaway! A perfect vacation cabin for families, couples, or just good friends! This spacious retreat features two king-size beds on the second floor, providing ample space for restful nights. Additionally, there's a full-size pullout couch on the first floor, perfect for accommodating two children under 12 years. Please note there is a $35 linen fee for guests exceeding four persons or for the use of the pullout, and we also offer a complimentary fold-up play crib. The master bedroom boasts a private bathroom, while the second bedroom has easy access to a hallway bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for all guests. The living room offers seating for six, and while the charming ceiling beams can be low in some areas, they add character to the space. Unwind indoors by the cozy stone fireplace in the living-room and stay connected with free Wi-Fi, and enjoy entertainment with Netflix and DVD movies available on the TV. Just a friendly reminder that since we are nestled in the pines, the internet speed may be slower than what you’re accustomed to. Off the living room is a half bath on the first floor, and air conditioning for those warm days. Our sunny kitchen, complete with a dining area that seats four, offers window seating for enjoying the views. The kitchen is stocked with just about everything you'll need to master up meals at the cabin like a chef! You could also enjoy dining under the covered decks fresco style with the charcoal BBQ next to the deck. The cabin is well-stocked with linens, cleaning supplies, personal care products, and all the necessary amenities for cooking. Feel free to reach out with any questions about these items. We're here to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible! The large covered patio features plenty of seating and a charcoal BBQ for alfresco dining, making it an ideal spot for gatherings. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the cabin, but we do provide a designated smoking bin on the patio for ashes and cigarette butts. Please shut both front doors and have window closed so the smoke does not enter the cabin, and thank you! And, for those looking to explore the lake, we provide a canoe for your adventures, along with fishing poles for a delightful day of angling. Kept at the cabin is a stand-up paddleboard that can be carted to the lake's shoreline; we also supply oars, and standard sized life jackets. Please note- You are responsible for your family's safety, and using any trail or watersport provided, you are doing so "At your own risk". The canoe, SUP and BBQ are not available from the end of October until mid-Spring. Due to the unique landscape, trash companies are unable to use their hydraulic lifts to pick up containers, so we ask that all guests please use the dumpsters located on the main road for your trash disposal. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our community clean and beautiful. We’re pet-friendly! One to two dogs are welcome for a $50 fee, pets are not allowed on the furniture or linens, please ensure they are crated if left alone in the cabin; always under your control; picked up after outside; any flea and tick issues resolved before your stay. One week before your stay, I will start communication on your upcoming trip. As your dedicated host and concierge, I am available to answer any questions or recommendations in the area so this can truly be a memorable trip. Beautiful peakaboo views of the lake from the deck and inside the cabin. It was quiet and relaxing while we were there. (Tip, for a delicious breakfast or lunch take a short drive to Bayfield to visit Brenda’s Old West Cafe). Durango is a beautiful drive to visit the mineral baths at Durango Resort or to just shop in town. Just can’t express how much we enjoyed our time there and already planning our next visit! She always kept us up to date on our upcoming trip. She was full of good tips on arrival and how to find the property. The cabin was perfect for our trip and it was full of the little things you need in the kitchen. Would highly recommend booking with one of her properties. My family and I were staying here for a family wedding. This was a comfortable home for 3 adults and two children (3yo & 11yo.). The beds were comfortable and the decorations felt homey. We also had everything we needed to make meals in the kitchen. A small grocery store was just down the road with very friendly folks working there! The kids went down to the lake practically every day to go fishing and loved it! My husband and I took the kayak out to the lake one early morning before everyone was awake and let me tell you, the fresh air, mist, and being out there in the middle of Vallecito lake was incredibly peaceful. To top it all off, René, the host was super easy to contact and even came by to say hi to us. She reached out before we even got there to give us specific instructions on how to find the place from the airport we were coming in through and listed places near by to get groceries. You won’t regret staying here. The house also comes with fishing rods for you to use and a kayak. I would definitely take my family here again! ##### Elaine Joy P. Rene was very helpful and the checkin was a breeze. She told us of some wonderful places to check out! The only suggestion that we had was to purchase a new router for the TV, or a more reliable service. We didn't go there to watch TV; however in the evening we wanted to watch the news. The TV would constantly buffer throughout the evening, so watching anything was quite difficult. Overall we enjoyed our experience in Vallecito Lake, "Little Valley" and the Avery cabin. The cabin stayed cool even with higher than average temps in the area. The lake was a just a quick walk away and my husband caught rainbow trout from the shore. We came to ski and enjoyed Durango’s ski slope, Purgatory, and its proximity to the cabin. The fireplace was a gem after hitting the slopes during the day and coming back to relax with a fire. Our host was very friendly and extremely helpful to share tips on activities in the area. We didn’t want to leave and plan on this cabin for our mountain getaway! We can’t recommend this cabin enough! Our stay was during spring break and we were able to ski the slopes during the day and come back to a fire in a great stone fireplace. There was an ice fishing tournament while we there but we didn’t have enough time this trip to check it out. Rene was very prompt with any details asked, we will definitely be back! ##### Steve S.
