Our 4 Bedroom, 7 Bathroom home, perched high above the Animas Valley surrounded by Ponderosa Pines on 35 acres, offers the privacy and seclusion you're looking for in your Colorado vacation. You will be stunned by the breathtaking views out each window, generous one-of-a-kind woodwork, and stunning rock fireplaces. This meticulously designed property is a work of art with no detail missed! LOCATION: Located approximately 15 miles from downtown Durango, 15 miles to Bayfield, 25 miles to Lake Vallecito, and 40 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort, this luxury home is the perfect base camp to explore all southwest Colorado has to offer. Our home features multiple living areas inside and out, a gourmet kitchen, an outdoor hot tub on the master bedroom deck, indoor heated saltwater pools, theatre room with game table and bar, two wood-burning fireplaces, dedicated office space, outdoor bar and grill area with fire pit. There is also a horseshoe area outside, which is the starting point of the private hiking trail on this 35-acre parcel. It's an amazing location for a true family get-away! With expansive views to the South and optimal access to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, Mesa Verde, and the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train, you won't want to miss the opportunity to stay in this rare find! COOLING: Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s. GOOD TO KNOW: There are ring cameras in a few outdoor spaces for security purposes. In winter (November through April), 4WD is required. It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires. We stayed here for 8 days with our adult children and 2 under 2 grand children. We loved every moment. The deck, the fire pit, kitchen and entire home is immaculate and fantastic. Each room has its own deck, sitting area, walk in closet, mini fridge and keurig. The layout worked perfectly as each family had their own wing of the home. Plenty of space to spread out. The pool was awesome, the hot tub wonderful too. We were sad to leave. The property management company was quick to respond and very helpful. This was the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed at. Absolutely immaculate. Well stocked with appliances, gas grill, plates, cups, etc. I wish I could pick it up and move it everytime we need to rent a Vrbo. It did get warm without air conditioning. Open the windows at night, run the floor and ceiling fans continuously and close the windows and blinds in the morning. It was 95 outside most of our stay and the home was generally in the 70s. We saw turkeys and deer nightly, our sons-in-law saw a bear. Stay here! It’s a true blessing you will remember and treasure forever. ##### Debbie P. This was the perfect setting for a family get together. The view is spectacular and the house provides plenty of room and amenities for everyone.
