The townhome features 3 bedrooms (all with TVs) and 2.5 bathrooms with a ping pong table in the garage. The gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances includes a bar with seating and opens to the main living space and dining area. Enjoy great views of Engineer Mountain and the ski slopes from either deck. The townhome home is part of the resort so you have access to free on-demand shuttle service to Purgatory Ski Resort but since it is across the highway you have the privacy and additional space a townhome affords (it’s part of a duplex). At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home. Bed Configuration: Master Bedroom - King Bed with TV and Ensuite Bath (2nd Floor) 2nd Bedroom - Queen & Bunk Bed with TV (Single over Single) (2nd Floor) 3rd Bedroom - Twin over Double bunk bed with TV (Single over Double) (2nd Floor) This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. For an additional (and optional) 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. When booking, just advise if you would like us to add the additional 4% resort fee. Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years). Carpet was old, worn and stained. Too much furniture made it cluttered and hard to walk around the living room and dining area without removing some pieces of furniture to make it more accessible. Temperature control /thermostat module in refrigerator was hanging/dangling down. Too many throw rugs throughout house (not secured) including rugs on top of the carpet making walking and tripping a interesting adjunct to the place. Master bedroom bed was missing Foot Board - which left exposed two large metal hangers/plates for you ankles and shins to catch on. Master bed room closet had two very large trunks stored in the closet - which didn't leave any floor space for shoes or other items or the top shelf which had other household items placed there leaving very little room for anything else. It is located in Purgatory which is in between Silverton and Durango. It’s about 30 mins from Durango. The house is in a very desolate area. We did not go during snow season so there wasn’t much to do close to the house. The check in process was very easy and our GPS took us directly to the property from Montrose Airport. Also if you’re driving to the property from Montrose you’ll drive through Red Mountain Pass and while it’s a beautiful drive, you’re butthole will be puckered from fear lol. The house wasn’t as clean as I had hoped for. They’re were chips on the floor when we arrived, empty Bud Light bottle on the patio. The patio was also very dirty with dirt and bird crap and the patio furniture cushions has definitely seen their better days. Some of the cushions were even missing. But the real issue was when I pulled back the covers in the masters bed there was a ring. Looked like a wedding ring and there was hair on the sheets. We had to completely strip the bed and search for more sheets. Overall the house served the purpose. ##### Lisa G. No air conditioning in these condos and was 100 degrees the day we were there. Master bedroom ceiling fan didn’t work so we had to sleep in guest bedroom. Also note that you need to haul your trash about half a mile away. Really those are just small issues. Beautiful property directly across from Purgatory. This was a great place to stay and provided a scenic mountain view from the patio. Very comfortable beds and private garage. We will be back! NOTE: Smokers please read! These mountain homes in this complex do not have Air Conditioning for the summer time. This isn't an issue for comfort in the daytime or night if you're leaving your windows open. However when you smoke on your patio or in the driveway this becomes an issue for non smokers when windows are open. Please be courteous and aware of this situation. We came for a summer getaway from AZ and the cool weather was just what we needed. The location is pretty far outside of Durango so there aren’t a lot of restaurants or grocery stores nearby, plan accordingly. We intentionally didn’t want to be around a lot of people due to covid so it was a perfect stay for us.
