The location, very close to where my grandparents once lived, was my reason for staying here. However, there were many problems with the place. The access to our room over the carriage house was very difficult -- steep, narrow staircase with two turns and very inadequate railing, especially at the top. Would not have chosen to rent this room if I had known. Also lacks an emergency exit. One window was large enough to get through but high off the ground. In other words, potential deathtrap. Escape ladders for the windows should be provided immediately. The room had a large TV mounted where it was virtually impossible to view and did not function well either. Brochure in room was first revelation that only a small "breakfast snack" was provided. If I had known, I would have brought more food. There was really no hosting and information one might expect like maps of the area or bus route information was not provided. Very unwelcoming atmosphere in general. Although the room had a fridge and microwave, no plates at all were provided in the room. Because we did not have a car, to eat the Chinese food we had delivered, we had to borrow a couple of tiny plates from the breakfast setup in the main mansion.
