Enjoyed this hotel throughly during my recent trip to Dusseldorf and the surrounding areas. Hotel room was on the 4th floor and the only noise i could hear was a trains passing by and the occasional German who was drunk. Noise from traffic or trains don't really bother me and once you close the window you don't hear that much anyway imho. However, that may just be me not being bothered by trains, cars, etc.
Fortunately, i wasn't near the main lift shaft, although there was another less busy one nearer my room also but i didn't hear much.
Overall, i enjoyed the hotel and experienced excellent comfort throughout. The room was spacious, clean and i was left in peace to enjoy my stay. The cleaners were great and didn't bother me if i put the 'do not disturb' sign up. I was there until 11 and 12 most mornings and just put the 'please make up my room' sign up when i was going. Hey presto, i returned to a clean room and an empty bin.
Also, the staff were mainly friendly and helpful, especially the manager. He was very good at his job and speaks perfect english-total gentleman. Talking of which, the TVs are old and do not have any english channels.
For me, this was a major disappointment as my german is very basic & a work in progress. True, i'm in Germany but.....
The TV's are also very old. They seem to have other national channels but nothing for the English speaking tourist, which is very surprising.
However, for me, it was an excellent hotel. Thanks.
