It is conveniently located between the ferry and town. It has a great view, lots of wildlife, grass yard, and water access. Kelley’s Cove is located towards the start of Fairbank Point, where the water starts on the southeast side (sunrises). Beautiful morning sunrises are across the water and to the left some. Kelley’s Cove is a dug-in bay which provides well protected water access and dockage. This is a great area for boating, canoeing, kayaking, and decent fishing. It is about 2.7 miles from the ferry dock and about 5.5 miles from town. The Kelley homestead was originally built in 1951 and has had many additions and renovations. Being built in the 50’s, it was common for bedrooms to be smaller and without closets. There are 3 bedrooms with queen beds and an open wardrobe for clothes. There is one bathroom and a half bath setup in the laundry room. The living room has a great water view and door access to the front deck. The kitchen has an electric stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cooking utensils, dishes, and pantry items (everything). There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. Towels and linens are provided. Internet WiFi is provided and is good enough for streaming Youtube or Netflix. Outside is a front deck with grill, table, and chairs. Out front is a dock providing a boat slip for you, while the other is for the caretaker’s boat. Often there is a swim raft in the bay. In the front yard, is a fire pit with log style seating and enough firewood provided for a campfire. There is a lot of wildlife in this area. Often two families of ducks are being raised in the cove, with plenty of deer, sandhill cranes, and other wildlife in the lake or passing thru. The bay itself is about 6 ft deep and the bottom is not rocky or sandy, but muck(a squishy soft bottom). On the front right side of the yard, is a rarely used right of access to the water for some family members. On the satellite view, you will see outside the kitchen window is a private drive, which gets occasional use by people not knowing it is a private drive. No Smoking No Pets - unless discussed and owner approved with a $50 pet fee Check-in 4 PM and Check-out 10 AM Please look at the calendar rates and availability section to see pricing. Pricing varies based on daily and seasonal demand. Fri and Sat are highest priced, Sunday and Thurs are medium price, while Mon thru Wed are the lowest prices. Summer is peak season price, with a 3 night minimum. Spring and Fall are non-peak season pricing with a two night minimum. If staying a full week, there is a 7 night discount that is automatically factored it. The cleaning fee, MI Tax and (online)Service Fee are clearly shown. The host Kari was w=very friendly and made us feel right at home. When we left we washed and dried the bed linens and remade the bed. Up to 5 deer at a time in the cove, sand hill cranes and even had loons. Extra dock where a friend was able to pick us up by boat for a 3 hour cruise and drop us back off. Incredible views and wildlife sighting, and a reasonable distance to trailer the side by side for a day of riding.
